One of the best coaching hires this team has made in a long time. I’m pretty excited to see what the defense does this year.

Not to mention this is great news for Bush.

Players have to want to be great, coaching only goes so far. You have to have heart, and enjoy football not so
    sure Bush fit's that mold.

Makes me wonder who would have even been dumb enough to suggest it was a statement

Makes me wonder why no one on this team can be quiet and go abt their business.

I do think Brian Flores was a good hire for the Steelers coaching staff. I'm not sure if I saw this posted within this post, but did anyone give any thought to the fact that Minkah Fitzpatrick wanted out of Miami in 2019 the year that Brian Flores began his HC stint with Miami? Minkah wanted out as he was not happy with the direction of the Dolphins. Just ironic that he is now our LB coach. I'm not sure I heard Minkah's take on him coming here.

I read an interview about how vocal the defensive game plan meetings will be with Austin, Flores, Dunbar and Tomlin all having their input and all willing to speak up

As Dick Vermiel so eloquently said at his hof, induction, players win games. Coaches prepare players so that they can be successful. How much smarter he got when Marshall Faulk played for him. LOL

That's funny.....Because I thought the same thing. He was always a pretty good coach, but Faulk, and Warner seemed 2 make Him a Great Coach.

    Joe Gibbs was truly a great coach. 3 SB’s with 3 different QB’s and 3 different RB’s.

Tough to say overall. For that matter, too early to speculate though are are two spots I can think of at present. Maybe Carolina as Matt Rhule could be on his way out should he have another disappointing campaign. Pete Carroll?! Seattle is definitely looking like it is headed for a rebuild but if I were Owner Jody Chair, I would pair up my new potential Franchise QB I can pick from in the 2023 NFL Draft with an Offensive Minded Head Coach.

Outside of those two places... not too many other Orgs I can think of that would want to change their Head Coach. A few might say Frank Reich of Indy and while I could see him being fired should the Colts not make the playoffs, I do not foresee that happening at present.

I've always said Gibbs is never given enough credit when talking about top all time coaches. IMO

Great hire but...The player/ players have to be willing to work/ have talent/ listen and retain...

One of the things coming out of camp so far, is that Spillane ( who I think is just a Guy ) has a real chance to start over Bush...

Flores, George Halas ,Chuck Noll...Can only do so much " Coaching " ...It ultimately comes down to the player...

    This goes without saying.

Truth be told, how both Mark Robinson (a former RB turned LB) and Buddy Johnson (a LB who could not see the field as much in his Rookie Campaign) are performing now, it is clear to me that Brian's ability to teach is not something that should be in question. Now, I will have to see these results in live game reps; namely this Saturday but the fact that a 7th Round Rookie and a second year LB are progressing more than a Top 10 Pick is both a testament to Flores' ability to coach while being a major concern to Devin Bush Jr's development.

Good thing the 2023 NFL Draft has some capable LBs too!! Who knows?! Perhaps Noah Sewell?!.... the Steelers do enjoy those NFL Bloodlines for certain!! Only major obstacle for Noah is his geographical displacement; very seldom does Pittsburgh draft from the PAC-12 and doubly so in Round One.
