That's part of the game slickster. I am not sure we get the truth on anything.

For now all we know is Ben is not playing against the Brownies but might be playing for the Ravens.

People need to stop reading so much into this stuff.. The media has no idea nor should they who is in or who is out. The NFL mandates by the Wednesday of each week who is probable and questionable and all that blah blah blah stuff

Ben already said he was going to miss a game for the birth of his son if he had to so I'm not sure why any of this sounds suspect.

Great! I couldn't care less about the specifics.
If Ben is going to be back for the Raven game it's a very good thing.

In high school playing football, I broke my collar bone where it connects to the breast bone in a tackling drill. I felt the pain but not wanting to be a wimp, I got back in line to tackle again when my turn came up. I was a sophmore and was tackling a senior.

My dumb luck, the same senior and I was matched up again. Not being too smart, I used the same left side to tackle him again. This time without a doubt I knew something wasn't right. I went to the emergency room and they took x-rays.

The doctor explained he thinks with the first tackle I broke the bone away from the breast bone. The second, the collar bone split like a log with the breast bone being the wedge. I had bones sticking out on both sides of the breast bone.

I had to sit out the rest of the season, but was able to play the next couple of years. All I know is it hurt. My doctor said that I would be fine to play, and it would take the perfect hit to cause any damage to organs...I love football, so I played even though Mom tried to get me to quit.

I'm sure Ben has a lot better doctor than any of us, and would give him all the options if he was injured again.

i'd see how charley does this week and also have our qb coach working OT with hoyer for now. charlie would get 1/3 of the snaps balt. week if they intend to play ben. i think it's a big mistake and knew they were going to rush him back.

we should have put JJ back on the PS or kafka last week too. this would have at least given them a week of familiarity in practice and two by the ravens game. we are in deep doo and if ben gets hurt by rushing him back, we are done anyway.

why when 2 wr's go down, we scramble to sign one and keep 2 more on the PS and move one up from the PS, but we don't keep an extra qb on the PS when we get this deep? crazy i tell ya. it doesn't make sense.

Rib injury aside, what about his shoulder? If it is still in pain, I'm guessing he isn't throwing the ball now. How would we know if next week he starts to throw the ball he a) doesn't have pain b) has the velocity and accuracy needed to win in the NFL and c) he will be able to take a hit on the shoulder, I'm guessing this is all predicated on that, not sure how one practices to see if they are ready for that.

looks like we are betting the season on one game. if charlie plays well and gets the snaps the next two weeks, we could use ben as an emergency qb after hoyer even in that game maybe. it would give him one extra week. i'll bet he could use it too. your right rush, how do they gage that when bes, saying it doesn't bother him, and you know he will. i think we can win if charlie can stay healthy the next 2 weeks. it may not be pretty but our PO run starts now. next man up mike.

Well, I need to see the Cleveland game before I suggest Ben should sit even if he's ready. After watching Byron, I say hurry back Ben. But last year, Charlie got the job done, so he should be able to do the same on Sunday.

I say if Charlie pulls thru healthy & with a win in Cleveland...let him play and let Ben get the rest to be a full 100%. No sense in rushing Ben back if they can still get the job done with Ol' Charlie & I'm sure Charlie can still get it done.

I agree. Ben being cleared to play is not the same as Ben being healthy.

Is anyone here a doctor and seen the MRI results or the x-rays? Don't you think the doctors will make the right decision regarding Ben getting back on the field? I hope he plays against the Browns!

No, not even remotely. It's not like they have never been wrong and never send players back onto the field when they shouldn't of. And as I said, being cleared to play is not the same as being healthy. We've all seen Ben play at less then 100% but he's not always the most effective when he does.

I respect your opinion brother, but I'll go with what the doctors say over what anyone here says.

But what if it turns out that the guy is actually NOT a Dr. but merely just stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night??? Huh? Did you consider that? THEN what would you say?

Blunt, what you just described is this entire board on Monday Mornings or after game day. I think we all sleep in Holiday Inns and discuss our brillant thoughts the next day. LOL, to funny!!! (sorry for showing my sense of humor).

Well I just wonder how one Dr can say "yep. you could die if you get hit too hard." But then another Dr can say "well looks like you're good to go." I think ultimately as I said earlier this is just a case of us not understanding or them not explaining very well. Also has anyone found out whether Ben is getting to play based on a 2nd opinion or the opinion of the Dr that made the original diagnosis?

What shoulder? Tomlin said they are one in the same

I would assume from this comments he meant the shoulder and ribs are related.

I was thinking the same thing............I really don't think the injury was as big of a deal that the FIRST doc made of it.......lot's of DRAMA surrounding this but like most fans have posted, I'll be glad to have him back. :)
