For a second I thought you were referring to TJ watt, but it’s Rodgers lol. Both first round playoff losers … poor watt :(

    R. Gannon, M. Ryan, Cam Newton, S. McNair, Boomer Esiason, D. Marino, and Fran Tarkenton come 2 mind without Me even looking, and that's just Qbs(not so short a list)...Probably more if I look it up.....anyway I said MVP. You don't have 2 be a Qb 2 win a MVP.
You will be able 2 add L. Jackson 2 that list.

Hell Brady had the most Yards, and TDs last year, and didn't win it. So I agree.

And Rodgers, Brady, Montana, farve,Elway, Bradshaw, Peyton, mahomes, young, Warner, etc.. all won rings and mvps. Lamar has played what 4-5 years. Too soon to try to add him to the list. Also in this nfl it would be hard for anyone not a qb to win it. They put up too many numbers and have too much of an impact on the game due to the current nfl rules. A rb maybe is the possible only chance.

Because Rodgers had the better record, led in passer rating, td/int ratio, etc.. Brady ha dbetter total numbers but it was clear Tampa was trying to get him the mvp. He had the most sttempts as well. Rodgers was the more effective and efficient player last yr. It's more than just total numbers.

Yes because of those guys Rodgers had the best record, was the most effecient, and effective at playing the position. Much as I love AB a wr is never going to win it. Their impact on the game could never really match that of a qb. Rams been had kupp and Donald. Didn't win the sb till they got who? The guy at qb. No position matches them in value but the closest is a dominant defensive player.

Again popularity contest. I'm not debating how important a QB is verses a WR or a dominant defensive player, those things are a given. The fact remains that Rodgers for all his statistical dominance (he is always my goto guy in fantasy) has done nothing in the 12 years since his title win. Now let's add his offseason hissy fit, his podcast rants, his lies about vaccination status and having several voters publicly criticize him is that really the look the league wants as its MVP? Burrow and Chase had a Cinderella season. Allen made the Bills relevant again, after years of futility Stafford led the Rams to a title and Mahomes was Mahomes. That 4 QB's that are more compelling as MVP than Rodgers numbers, team wins and ultimately a division game exit from the playoffs and yet Rodgers and Brady were considered before any of those four.

It's an award for that singular season. What you did in the past doesn't matter. Everyone you named didn't have a better season than Rodgers. Burrow was 9-7 and narrowly won the division thanks to injuries. Allen was good but not Rodgers. Same with mahomes. Brady had a case. Stafford led the league in pics.

How deep did the Packers go in the playoffs last season with the best record and a Veteran QB with the best stats?

By most seasons the way they pick the MVP... Brady should have won.
I can't remember a year the Guy with the most TDs, and yards didn't win....except last year.

Because he didn't have the best season. He led in attempts and everyone knew the bucs were purposely trying to win him the mvp. Their were games they were blowing people out and he still was in the game at the end to stat pad. Rodgers played better and had the better seasom. Brady had him in total stats but rodgers led in effeciency stats so when you combine that with what the bucs wrre trying to do, rodgers was the choice. Also most improtantly better record. Brees led in 2011 in tds, yards, and completion percentage but still didn't win. That's not the only criteria. It can help you case but there's other things that go into it.

The playoffs is irrelevant to the regular season mvp. It's voted on before its even played.

So the results of the season have no bearing on who the season MVP is? It's a unique thought I'll give you that. I'm sure players and fans alike will be relieved that they don't need 17 weeks to determine the playoff seedings and champion for the league. Not sure what to do with all the free time I will have this winter.

I said most of the time....at least that's what I meant...., and the whole padding stats is lame....how many games did A. Rodgers come out of after leading????

And that's the big reason why MVP is a dumb trophy. I think only twice in the last 22 years has the MVP won the SB.....Dumb

It's not because it's specifically for the regular season which counts. They should just only play the playoffs using your logic.

Coming out and your team still throwing the ball whole up 20 plus in the 4th is 2 different things. brady attempted far more passes than Rodgers for this reason.

That's not what I said. The playoffs determine the BEST TEAM. Not the most valuable player of the regular season. Matt Stafford arguably played better than any qb in the playoffs but was he the mvp of the season? No. Playoffs are their own thing.

Using Your logic they should just stop after the regular season, and vote for a SB winner.

no they they shouldn’t because I didn’t say the post season doesn’t matter at all. I said in terms of winning the regular season mvp the postseason doesn’t matter.
