I'm with Steelresolve here...it's tough to put Ward ahead of Stallworth, Swann, and Brown, but you have to do it. On top of his receiving numbers, you also must factor in his play away from the football...Ward is by far and away the best blocking wide receiver in NFL history, and it's not even close. The fact that the HOF Committee let in a pedestrian guy like Drew f****** Pearson over Ward is beyond all comprehension, too...

Stallworth or Brown are No. 1. Look at it honestly. If Brown had suffered a career-ending injury in 2018 instead of losing his mind, most people here would put him No. 1. No receiver in the team's history was the best in the game for that long.

Ward was much easier to like, but he doesn't belong ahead of those guys.

That last spot should probably go to Buddy Dial or Elbie Nickel.

The second tier. Yancy had some good years here and played on teams with decent coaching. I just looked at Louis Lipps stats and forgot just how good he was, playing on some horrible teams. Injuries derailed him, but 4 years at 19 plus ypc average, another 2 at near or above 15. Guy was a stud with no one throwing to him.

I realize Swann and Stalworth are both in the HOF. I also realize Ward has the best career stats, even though he had Kordell and Maddox throwing to him for half his career. Of course this top 10 played in different eras which skews any stat comparison.

Still, there is only one on this list who was THE best in the league over several years, and that was Brown. Being the most dominant of his time offsets any attempt to compare eras IMO.

No Ward had Tomczak, Graham, Kordell, and Maddox for a bunch. I would bet money that Brown stats wouldn't be close as what He had with that. Hell everyone knows every time Ben was out a game Brown disappeared.

Damnit! Why did you have to bring up Tomczak and Graham? I'm trying to repress those memories!

Roy Jefferson has to be somewhere in the top 5. He was the best WR in football in the late 1960's.

It’s a product of the league, but probably too many players from last 15 years. Brown, Holmes, Ward the only game changers.

I gotta put AB at no.1.

Dude was like the best wr in the league for like 5 straight years. In the age of wr's.

    I know he's a douche but he's the best.

If the question was Top ten WR'S who played for the Steelers.
Then I put Brown at 1
But its Top Ten Steelers WR's All Time
I can't put AB at 1 after he claimed to be injured then he wanted to play then he sulked on the sideline like a spoiled kid.
So with importance put on being a Steeler
1 Stallworth super bowls and clutch long career
2 Swann super bowls but career cut short
3 Ward Hines would of blocked a DE if you asked him to Anyone who gets a rule changed deserves respect.
4 Brown Can't ignore the talent. There is two AB's BB and AB Before Burfick and After Burfict I really think Burfick broke his brain when he laid him out.
5 Yancy Thigpen I just love saying his name
6 Lipps Had a good career legit deep threat even with sub par QB's
7 Holmes Wish we could of kept him longer. Hard to find a more clutch performance in a 4th qtr of a SB
    8 Wallace Amazing speed
9 Burress Another one I wish we could of held on to
10 Randel El Good WR and a wild card.

Even with Roethlisberger, Ward was never even close to being the best receiver in the game. Brown was the best in the game for years. I get that people hate the guy now, but it has made them forget that he was pretty much unstoppable for a long time.

I think for consistency and longevity, Stallworth and Brown are locks at 1 and 2.

    Then I’d go:
    3. Lipps
    4. Swann
    5. Ward
    6. Dial
    7. Thigpen
    8. Jefferson
    9. Holmes (never a favourite of mine, but he was certainly clutch)
    10. Burress

I'd give an honorable mention to Randle El, but I think his skills went outside the receiving role.

He was dynamite, it is a shame the Steeler organization never gave him his due.
He was my favorite Steeler until the Dynasty years. He and Andy Russel played on some
    putrid teams.

Oh my, you must be a young fellow. AB was great but Stallworth and Swann were the best.

Two different era of football, AB and Ward had tons of passes thrown their ways, Stallworth and Swan era they threw around 20 to 27 times a game, now it's nothing to throw 30 to 40 times a game. Overall I believe Stallworth and Swan had the same number of passes as the rest they would not even be a question. I do know that during Bradshaw ere if they needed a 1st down it more then likely going toward Stallworth and he was unstoppable most of the time especially on comeback routes along the sidelines. One of the greatest receivers of all time.

I'm old enough to remember all of them. I'm as big of a Stallworth fan as there is, but to suggest that Brown wasn't at least in that class shows your own bias as much as you think he is showing his.

Regarding Swann, Brown was better. It's not close. Both could make the spectacular grab. Both were tough enough to go over the middle despite their size. Both made great plays after the catch. Brown just did it a hell of a lot more often and when he was at his best, he did it without another Hall of Fame receiver opposite him.
