if they knew Tuitt wasn’t coming back then they aren’t going to rely on a 3rd round project to replace him.

I trust the Steelers know more than the people on this board and they will have a plan.

Dale Lolley was saying on his podcast that he is as sure as he can be that Tuitt is coming back for 2022 and Leal is a guy with big potential that can be given a chance to develop physically and learn the system.

They have Wormley and Loudermilk as well so there should be no need for Leal to start in 2022 unless they have another injury meltdown

This is sort of what the talking heads on NFL Network are saying about the Steelers. We didn't get high grades from them. Obviously it is impossible to know how it will pan out.

    IMO Bradshaw-Ben-still have to wait.

I liked the draft. It's one of the few years that they addressed a lot of needs via free agency. I loved the fact that they got Pickett in round 1. I love the potential of the 2 x wide receivers they got. I trust they have a plan for Leal. Like the Heyward pick the more I read about him.

As far as the two 7th round picks go, it's the 7th round. Camp bodies. Not sure why that particular QB but whatever.

Way too soon to say whether its a good draft or not. There always so many hits and misses, sure things that flop and late round surprises that become reliable starters 3 or 4 years down the road. I like Pickett pick before the draft I thought they could of passed on a QB but I think when the guy they had the highest rating on is there take him. When he was first mentioned months ago as one of the better QB's I watched Pitt whenever I could and I liked what I saw. Not a cannon of an arm but a lot of great QB's didn't have super human arm strength. If our defense improves and our run game gets some serious traction we won't need a 5000 yd year from Pickett. A good running game , a good defense and not turning the ball over and we will be fine. I love how this team hasn't totally bottomed out forever.

The only players I remember them drafting from Maryland recently is Brooks, and McFarland.

I like the optimism that many are feeling over this draft. The signing of Kazee certainly helps me feel a bit better about not addressing the safety position in the draft. That was a pleasant surprise. I’d still like to see us tap into inexpensive free agency a bit more for key role player spots.

I really wanted them to draft a CB, but I like the big play ability of the two receivers they drafted.

We had Najee, Pat and Dionte as our only weapons on offense. Defense is pretty stacked if Alualu and Tuitt come back.

Very risky draft imo. I thought they said they needed to hit on their first 2-3 picks?

    1) Pickett - Is a huge question mark. Obviously nobody else in the league saw him as a starter hence why he fell to 20.

    2) Pickens - Already had acl injury and sounds like he's another head case.

    3) Then picks 6 and 7. Once again whether it's drafting family members or Maryland players. We are wasting late round picks. At the very least if you're throwing the picks away they could be used to move up in 3rd or 4th rounds to get higher quality players.

    He’s not a project, lol.

I’m not sure what your second sentence means, in regards to what? Tuitt leaving? Better damn well hope they do.

He is to a degree. They are hoping he can put on the weight needed to play inside, hence he’s not ready, hence a project. I also understand he has some work ethic things that need worked on.

Consistency and effort are two different things my friend. As I stated leading up, he is easily a top 20 player in this class when locked in but his overall performances come and go. That is quite the concern; doubly so since he was an All American a season ago in 2020... a First Team one at that.

Hope I am wrong. Agree though regarding Tuitt. Think he is done for certain. Truly a shame but I wish him all the best.

    Mental health comes first.

I just watched the Jets 3 first round introduction. And I really hope Pickett becomes special. Coz I'm absolutely certain Jermaine Johnson is going to be a leader of men.

    Dude is scary poised.

He's not as polished as the other 2. But his determination is apparent.
