Wilson is my favorite WR prospect (and not just bc I like the OSU boys). He is sized and athletically talented like Stefon Diggs, but is far more refined coming out of school. Wilson just does so many things at an NFL level already. He is a great route runner, has good hands, wins contested balls, is good after the catch, etc. The bust potential in my eyes is about as close to zero as you can get. He will automatically be a solid #2 as soon as he takes the field with the upside of being a top 10 WR in the NFL. He's about the only WR I would like at 20. I would trade back and be cool with Dotson, Burks or Olave, but at 20 Wilson is my guy. I dont know enough about Williams to make a decision on him one way or the other (although he used to be a Buckeye, so he's probably great ;) )

Just a question ...How in the defenses in the SEC does a WR have the most big plays in the SEC ,and not be fast enough 2 play. 8 catches 179 yards ,and 2 tds against Alabama this year. Yeah He must be slow because We know Alabamas D sucks. LoL.
    Anyway just My opinion.
 I bet Dallas takes Him in the 1st

I thought Jameson Williams led the SEC in big plays last season .

Not by what I'm reading. Now I can't find it.
Now it looks like He was 2nd. . One had B. Young throwing Him the ball in Alabama....the other had someone you never heard of.
All I'm saying is He did it in the SEC....with a no name Qb....and ran a faster time then AB, and is twice his size(not literally).about 4 inches taller, and 40 pounds heavier. ...Yet I'm hearing How slow He is. Makes no sense.

He's not what the Steelers need at WR right now IMO, they just got rid of two WRs who couldn't get separation in JuJu and Washington.

LoL. Hell I don't want any Wrs in the 1st. I guess You didn't read . I'm just saying if I was drafting a Wr in the 1st....He would Be My pick.....You people and Your 40 times....worked well for Bush, and T. Edmunds.
Also I guess AB couldn't get separation???
40 time doesn't have 2 do with separation. If it did ...every top 40 time Wrs would Be great ...instead of bust??? I guess Alabama just let Him get separation. Cause they have no DBs. LoL
Again I don't want No Wrs in the 1st. Dallas will take Him if He's still on the board.

    1. I didn't say Burks was slow ( in fairness, you quotes me and someone else at the same time. So perhaps you were referencing his post.)
    2. Jameson Williams is faster and has more big plays. So there is that.
    3. Some say Burks has great hands. I see too many body catches so I can't tell one way or the other. Garrett Wilson on the other hand has fantastic hands. Personally, I want 2 WR out of this draft. One in the top 3 and probably at 6. I think there are many good ones. And how well they do will depend on opportunities at the next level.

Perhaps it's Burk's QB play, but his range of outcomes goes from Nkeal Harry to AJ Brown.

Also, let's not do false comparison. Antonio Brown was a decent college route runner who was undersized with average straight line speed, and good hands. He then worked his way into being a top WR.

Since we can't predict who'd become an improvement junkie. We have to simply project on current talent as is. Burks is NOTHING like the finished article Antonio Brown. And he is 10 times better than the College Antonio Brown was. But so havw about 1000 other WRs since Brown got drafted. who didn't amount to much in the pros

So being better than College AB is no great feat.

Burks physicality suggests he'll be a starter day one. Dude who was 3rd WR in Dallas seems the current best comp from watching his videos.

The AB stuff had nothing 2 do with will Burks be as good , or not.... it was based solely on their 40 speed, and saying 40 speed is not the reason for separation.

So Tyreek Hill's 4.3 speed has nothing to with him getting separation ?

    1. He didn't run at the combine....so we don't know what He really runs....Pro Day doesn't count....everyone runs faster at their pro day.
    2. We shall see how much separation He gets this year. Remember earlier in his career it was all screens, short game, and handoffs mainly, and later when Mahomes came in ...a lot was Mahomes buying time ....Hell no DB can keep coverage on many Wrs forever.
If anything I just said was wrong....please point it out .

[I'd take Watson in the 3rd, perhaps early 3rd. Earlier than we pick. But not in the 1st.

For my money the #1 WR I want is George Pickens. I think he is the absolute best all round WR in the draft.

Jameson Williams I'll take at 20 cause I just want top off speed for a change. And I also think he might be top 3.

Pickens, Williams, and Wilson strike me as eventual #1 WRs. The others are less clear to me.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we entertained Watson in the second round. He seems very athletically talented in a very similar way to Martavis Bryant. I would be willing to bet we aren’t walking away without a WR in the first 3 rounds somewhere.

I don’t know tons about Williams other than he’s a supreme deep ball threat.

Wilson I love. He’s just so pro-ready. Does so many things well and is already an NFL caliber route runner. He just needs to go to a team that has a halfway decent QB to feed him the rock and look out.

Pickens is an AJ Green style player, but he definitely needs to refine his route running to become the player I think you see him becoming. All three would be nice players to end up with (although I think Only Williams and Wilson end up going in round 1).

i don't think we go round one for a WR. watson i said i wouldn't mind in round two. he's one option. they took pierce from cincinnati out to dinner with that group as well. he's another big, fast guy that needs some refining too but has a lot to work with. 2-3-4 round range will most likely be where they go for one i would say. i think it's qb the whole way in 1. wr is a group that is loaded this year. so is corner.

they have actually looked at a lot of TE's this year if you follow the pro days. my guess would be a move TE that can split out in certain situations if they go that route. muth is fine but gentry is limited in that area. more of a ebron style player may be what they are looking for. i think MT actually liked him and may like to have a younger better version of him. if you look, there are some nice TE's in this years draft that are being overlooked. i know they met with cole turner from memphis. trey mcbride is out there. ruckert from the buckeye's. there are several that can run, catch and block. i wouldn't put this position out of possibility in this draft.

Tyquan Thornton from Baylor is the fastest WR in the draft running a 4.26 forty. He's 6'2" with good hands but the knock on him is that he only weighs 180 lbs and is a very inexperienced route runner. At Baylor he was mostly used for deep passes and slants to take advantage of the fact that he is usually the fastest player on the field.

Danny Gray can absolutely fly. He ran a 4.33 at the combine and he was the Texas 100 meter champion in HS running a 10.5.

Calvin Austin III the mighty mouse from Memphis is an interesting WR prospect. He is only 5'7" and weighs 170 but he runs a 4.32 forty. He is a superb route runner and has good hands. He can change direction on a dime and is nearly impossible to bring down when he has the ball with space to run, he's just too elusive. Pro Football Network has a 2nd round grade on him.
