Davis would be my first choice, but I’d be ok with any of the three to be honest.

Do you think there are more definitive CBs that are highly likely to be successful?

Why do so many think Davis would be long gone before we pick?

Is there a particular team ahead of us that's targeting Davis? I mean, not that I think he's guaranteed to make it to 20. But it's not so far fetched.

It's not like he is Evan Neal or Ekwonu. Unlike those guys who have Zero chance of being at 20, Davis actually might make it there.

I think it’s just a shared opinion that he tested so well that there will be someone in the top 10-15 picks that will fall in love with his potential and take him. I also think there’s a chance that he makes it to 20. While I’ve been on record saying I don’t think DL is a big need at all, I would be just fine if they took a chance on Davis.

Teams like Minnesota, Baltimore could take Davis, he has been mocked to them FWIW.

2 picks. They traded one away in the trade with the Saints. They're still both ahead of us though.

I actually starting 2 worry Davis may turn out 2 tall for a team like us....I'm beginning 2 think D. Wyatt maybe better.....if We select a DL.....I rather get a CB in the 1st.

I have always thought he was a better player and I'm shocked it seems he is not unde consideration. The only 1st rounder who is likely to be at 20 that I'll take over Wyatt is Jameson Williams.

I've always thought he'd be gone.
3 Edge rushers, Hutchinson, Thibodeaux, Walker
    3 tackles, Neal, Ekwonu, Cross
    2 corners, Sauce, Stingley
    1 Safety, Hamilton
    1 WR Wilson
And hopefully 2 QBs in Willis and Pickett

Everyone else may make it to 20.

I'm not as high on Booth as many are. I think Sauce and Stingley generally are clearly top 2
For outside Corners (i.e true#1s CBs)
I view Elam as the next best potential shutdown Corner then McCreary.

Everyone else, have good qualities but I'd be shocked if they ended up as shutdown corners. Booth included..

shut down corners are very rare and in todays game the league doesn't want them. hence the rules changes. they want offense. they want scoring. there are a lot of really good wr's as well and does anyone really think these rookies will be true shut down players against these guys? c'mon. they were playing against the likes of pickett, ridder, howell, willis and corral which nobody thinks are that great. they won't be going against those qb's in the pros nor the receivers they will be throwing too in college. we may find a few good corners but shut down? naw, not buying it.

In fairness, I was talking about long term potential to be lockdown corners. Not necessarily immediately.

Personally, I'd like to get a nickel corner to cover the slot. But not in the 1st round

I think that's what so good about this year's draft, it's not just the guys at the top the gurus are pimping, there are guys well deep into this one at several of the positions we need to add some future players. Corner, OT, safety, WR, LB. This draft is deep on good players and not just standouts. The rest of the rounds are not really far off the top guys. Not much difference at many positions.

I was hoping His(Stingley)injury would let Him fall that far, but it doesn't look like it now.

Well Stingley has went against all of them, and has done pretty good until the injury. He was also said 2 shut Down Chase in practice all the time.....So....
You are correct.... doesn't mean He will in the NFL, but it's a better bet than drafting one of the Qbs you just brought up in your comments. I mean You just talked down about those Qbs in a way.....No???.

Just depends on those receivers. In college against college offenses and college he's many receivers don't run a route free like NFL receivers do and against machines and Rodgers and the likes. The game is different. What really is a shut down corner in the nfl? There have been a lot of good college corners over the years and very few have been total shut down corners in the nfl.

As far as those qbs , I think there is far more difference with them at the top then there is from corners from top to bottom. Sheer numbers of good corners as opposed to good he's is quite different. I think there is far more quality this year in corners and safeties then there is in QB's after round 1.

    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft...-pickett-falls-packers-chiefs-load-up-on-wrs/

These mocks get dumber and dumber. This one has the Steelers passing on Pickett for a receiver in the first round (unlikely, but possible), and passing on Ridder for an edge rusher in the third. I can't see Ridder falling that far, but if he did and Pittsburgh hadn't already taken a quarterback, I'd be surprised to see them pass on him.

I heard over the weekend that the team likes Pickett a lot more than they are letting on. I'm not sure if that is true, but I just can't see them passing on him at 20 if Willis is gone.

I'd have preferred Jameson Williams who went a pick earlier, but this draft is close to perfect for me.

A WR, a safety, and an Outside Rush linebacker.

What's not to like? Sure I'd have preferred, Jameson Williams, Jalen Pitre, and Beavers. But a fan can dream.

I can see them passing on Pickett. My bet is they go with Howell or Ridder. I don’t want them to draft a qb at all, but if they don’t trade up for one I will be okay with the pick.

    Why not?!

Stingley still has to answer a myriad of questions not pertaining to his injury. One of which is his inconsistencies in overall zone coverage. The major reason though why he can get away with some of the shortcomings he has is due to his All Pro Level Ball Skills. For that matter, even among the top corners in the NFL that were coming out, outside of the likes of Ramsey, Denzel Ward and Tre'Davious White, Stingely Jr's abilities on the ball are as about as NFL Ready as one will find; special even. However, special ball skills will only take a CB so far. Need to be more than that.

In addition to his lapses in zone coverage, his lapses in technique regarding tackling is also something of concern. Perhaps not at a glance but teams who deploy zone based blocking schemes will have a field day running in his net direction.
