He will officially be a Steeler tomorrow, so you may as well start defending him now.

I’m having a little bit of trouble with the Chuks resigning, but maybe he’ll prove me wrong.

Why? They could still use one more corner.

Really enjoying this. Great pick up for the price. Wallace is a good, physical tackler. Feels like a Hilton replacement.

This will be a competitive and YOUNG team after the draft. Only position with some age is the starting DL.

Paying Big Ben. This is what happens when you don't tie up $25-$30M a year for an elite QB.

    Agreed. 1000%

I'm only suggesting priority would shift.

Instead of, we go to get AW under contract, it becomes, we can wait it out.

It allows the Steelers to not jump and go over too to secure. They now can play the slow game.

Again, the Sutton at least has started. Would we all rather have Sutton at LCB or miles Killebrew at SS.

I'd shift my money towards a S and wait on AW coming around, if he does.

That is a part. But we also had where we didn't go so out last year.

A lot of people, myself included...thought it was a given that Witherspoon would already be signed/ wouldn't break the bank...

But if I remember correctly...The Dude hardly played, got his chance ( and played really well ) but didn't he, right after he got some playing time...talk ****, or get real cocky, or was doing some stupid stuff...I " think " I remembered this... maybe someone can tell me if I remembered right, lol...

Maybe....Again, if I remember right... He's just a cocky F***...who thinks he's gonna get the Brinks Truck!

He got on my bad side when he ran into the end zone for a photo op after an interception against the Vikings when we were down 100-0.

No clue if they don't like his attitude/personality... but it's clear the players they have signed are really good kids. Professional, appreciative, all that stuff. It's the Steelers.

They save more money by cutting Schobert after June 1. I’m not sure they are cutting Banner.

That's what you get when show boating is tolerated by the head coach.

By all accounts AW is a great locker room guy, intelligent and down to earth. Do t recall him doing anything stupid at any point but I am open to correction.

I don’t blame any player for testing free agency if they feel they will have interest from other teams.

Yes I believe Banner is history after the Chuks signing. I would tell Schobert he has to take a pay cut from that ridiculous contract or be cut. Or cut him outright and possibly resign him. Personally I believe Bush is more of an issue.

After the Chuks signing they went out and secured a solid guard/center in James Daniels corner Levi Wallace and Mason Cole guard/center which some projections have him starting at center. Green looks to be a back up possibly competing for the center position although after last years showing he didn't improve getting pushed back like a rag doll.

Now they have to sign Witherspoon which reports are positive.

    https://www.si.com/nfl/steelers/news/pittsburgh-steelers-resigning-ahkello-witherspoon

Then address the ILB position either in the draft or a FA as well as strong safety and receiver.

Sounds like 2 QB`s that have had great careers in a Steelers uni.

I prefer Danny Gray over Skyy Moore. I think he'd Mike Wallace from the best years reincarnated for us.
But yes, the D line talent in the draft is insane.

Speaking of Levi Wallace - you know, the namesake of this thread, here's an interesting read on how he made his choice to become a Steeler vs Bill. The spin is that it was a "heavenly" signal but perhaps more of a laundry day coincidence?

"Honestly, I was on the fence of either staying with Buffalo or going to Pittsburgh," Wallace said (H/T Steelers Depot). "Ultimately, when my agent called and he was like, 'You should think about going to Pittsburgh,' I said, 'OK, I'll call you back, let me pray about this.' I prayed and I said, 'Lord, if you want me to go to Pittsburgh, let me know, give me a sign.'"

Almost as soon as Wallace asked for a sign from above, he got one.

"Man, I'm just sitting there, contemplating, and I looked down, and I had black and gold shorts on," Wallace said. "I was like, 'Do you know what?' There it is. There's a sign. The Lord must want me to go to Pittsburgh, and I honestly just called my agent back and was like, 'let's go, let's do it.'"

And there you have it. That's why Wallace ended up picking the Steelers over the Bills in free agency. It took a heavenly sign and now he'll be heading to the team that's famous for one of the most heavenly wins in NFL history, the "Immaculate Reception."

Despite the signs from above, Wallace said leaving Buffalo still wasn't easy on him.

"It was a difficult decision for me. I went back and forth with my agent," Wallace said. "I think prayer helped me a lot, but it doesn't make it any easier. You have real relationships, real friendships, real brotherhood [with your old team]. It sucks. At the same time, I can't wait to get to Pittsburgh and start working there too. It's business. Business is business. I look forward to the opportunity to be in Pittsburgh and create the same relationships and friendships in that city."

Wallace, who signed as in Buffalo as an undrafted free agent in 2018, was an unexpected surprise for the Bills. During his four seasons in Buffalo, he started in all 52 games that he played in. In 2021 alone, he set career highs with 10 pass breakups and 58 tackles. Now, he'll be heading to Pittsburgh after signing a two-year, $8 million deal with the Steelers and he'll almost certainly be a starter in 2022."
