I would not draft any of those players in first round.
But I do understand, if a team like Steelers has a single great need and feels Kyle Hamilton is the next Kam Chancellor, I understand going for it at 20. I would not. I want fast defense.

You do realize we are arguing about what was in my mind at the time, right? I didn't realize you were not only a mind-reader, but you can also travel back in time. I hope you are finding more productive ways to use your gifts. :)

Joking aside, all I can tell you is that although I'm quite stubborn, I really don't care enough about this to lie. Believe what you like. You are entitled to be wrong if you want.

That’s not what I am arguing and to be fair, you were both against taking Edmunds and stated your preference for a LB there as the position drafted but you never mentioned Leonard. I’ve posted that draft thread before and it supports those statements. So credit where credit is due.

What I am clinging to like a Pitbull is I just want you to admit that taking Leonard in that spot when there were other LB’s also available, some ranked higher depending on who’s rankings you were using, amounts to hindsight.

Thats it! I promise Elvis I will do my best to not respond anymore.

Well despite all the possible options, its looking like we are going QB at 20. The only curveball I see is if we trade up to get a specific QB. We have tipped our hands. It would be out of character for us to be sending major smokescreens here. I expect us to be calling the name of a QB in round 1 this year... just depends on what name we call and which pick we call their name at.

And I'm telling you that Leonard was the guy I thought should be next. That is where he was in the rankings I looked at back then. Hell, I don't even remember whose list or lists I was looking at, but I remember he was the guy they had listed after the consensus first-rounders. As we've seen, not everyone had him that high.

Just because they have said they are taking a quarterback doesn't mean it has to be in the first round. I think they are going to stay at 20. They will definitely take Wilis if he falls that far. I think they would take Corral or Pickett, too. I'm not sure if they like Howell or Ridder that much. I think either guy would be a reach at 20, but it wouldn't be the first time the Colbert/Tomlin team reached in round one. See Edmunds.

At this point, I hope we sign Baker Mayfield. If it would kill the need to draft a QB.

WR, DL, Edge Rusher, CB, IOL, OT. I'll take any of those in the first over QB :(

Mayfield is not a free agent yet and I'm not sure signing him does take quarterback off the table in the draft. He really is no better of a bet as a long-term option than Trubisky.

The Steelers have filled vital needs via FA and resignings. It is time now to get back to selecting the 'Best Player Available' on the board at the time of each of our picks in order to build depth. We have been drafting out of obvious need for quite some time now which has caused us to "over reach" too frequently.

I've got news for everyone...if Pickett or Willis is there at 20 they are taking a QB OR if Ridder is there in the 2nd they will take a QB there.

The nice thing about what they did this off season is they have the luxury to do what they want in the draft. Yes, they still need to address SS and WR but there is still plenty of time before camp.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we took any of the top 5 QBs at pick 20. I think Willis is the apple of Tomlin’s eye, but that doesn’t mean that Colbert and others don’t see more value in one or more of the other guys. If I recall correctly, didn’t Colbert do some personal scouting of Howell during the season?

yep. it could be the last power play before he leaves. don't worry though, MT will pick up willis a few years from now when he fails somewhere and have his first round qb that he can mold when others couldn't. green font, green font. well sort of. :smiley1::cool:

They should load up on defense, because they might only have Flores for a year or two.

I hope the Steelers take the best CB on the board at their #20 pick,
Then get Sam Howell with their second. WR in third, SS in 4th, DL with their 2nd 4th rounder.OT remainder of draft.

He has Willis going to Carolina at #6 , and Pickett to the Steelers at #20.

Agreed! I don't think he is. But with him picked up we'd have 4 QBs already in house. Surely, we won't then go ahead and draft a 5th.

I pray it's Jameson Williams or Devonte Wyatt.

On a side note, I get why Jameson Williams might make it to us. Devonte Wyatton the other hand strikes me as strange. I even see him being available in the 2ns in some drafts.

I don't get it. I think he is the best all round Georgia DLineman.

If he is there I hope we don't pass on him Unless Jameson Williams is there.

I'm not sure Wyatt is a guy they want, he's already 24 years old, and doesn't quite fit their 3/4 that's what they were saying on SNR.

He strikes me as a perfect end in a 3-4 defense. Stout against the run with great athleticism to affect the pass. Of all the Georgia DLmen he had the best pass/run grade average. Oh well :(

I've conclude I'll be disappointed again like last year. The Steelers look like they are taking a QB no matter what. My only hope is that they stay at 20 to do it rather than move up...

For me it's Willis, Pickett, Corral, Ridder. In that order.

I've resigned myself to that reality. My only hope now is the we don't give up anything to get whoever we get.

I saw a draft that had us moving up to 5 to draft Willis. And giving up 20, 52, plus 1st and 2n next year.

Such a trade will make me sick :(

Remember folks Joe Burrows, and Pat Mahomes, are still in AFC along with other
talented QB's. Being able to cover WR's would be a good omen. Best CB available at 20. Sign Minka
and try to strengthen OT, DL, IL,B,OLB. Fingers crossed.
