Kenny Pickett and Malik Willis will be gone inside the top 10 (Atlanta and Seattle).... The saints may be in play for a 1st Rd QB as well..... I still think Jordan Davis just combined himself out of our reach....
With them signing chuks to a ridiculous contract, I don't think OT is in play....
I think we'll be looking SS or d-line

TBH don't be shocked if we go WR in the first round. ILB is in play as well (even with the Jack signing), as is CB. I'd be shocked if we draft a DL not named Jordan Davis... just not a need at all. SS is outside shot in round 1, but I think its more likely we address that position in FA prior to the draft.

Jameson Williams, for me, is worth wasting a 1st on. As complete a player when healthy as there is in the class. Best part about him??... he is true speedster while being a true Wide Receiver; a rarity that does not come around often.

That's risky for a team like the Steelers with limited picks, will Williams be ready for the start of the season?

I want them to go Davis, or best CB on the board, if none are there take the best OL.

Bear in mind that I only purposed him based on the thought that drafting a WR is a waste. Also to note, I do not believe that Williams will be around by pick 20 anyways; I have him being selected in the Top 15 myself. The next best option stems from Chris Olave; my second rated Receiver for this class (hint hint).

However, for him to enter the fold, Pittsburgh must bring the house come March 23rd. Here in lies the problem; Matt Corral is also slated to work that day and the team has already had a formal meet up with him at the Combine. Unless they are more so blown away by Willis and/or believe there is no shot in acquiring him, Corral could be the next best option... though I state this with caution as Desmond Ridder's Pro Day is tomorrow.

I expect the Steelers to attend the Ohio State pro day over going to see Corral.

    Same.

I would be surprised if they do not. Ohio State has been a landmark location for the team for some time now.

I agree with Whaley take the best defensive player on the board.

As do I. However, I do not believe that is what the Steelers will do. I truly believe that they will try anything and everything to get Willis.

As I stated in another thread, unless the Detroit Lions bring the house themselves tomorrow, Malik Willis is more and more likely to become a Steelers player UNLESS Seattle gets involved as well; Baker or no Baker.

Hopefully Seattle, Atlanta, or Carolina maybe even Detroit take Willis early, I don't want the Steelers giving up those draft picks for a player who won't play much this season.

    Yep.

Contrary to popular belief and, as I stated before and will again, I am a fan of NO QB in this class. Realistically speaking, the player that is number three on my sig has been a big draft crush of mine dating back to 2020!! However and, even before the combine, I had given up on him even making it that far. It is all but a certainty he does not for Davis is going anywhere from Top 10 to Top 15.

A MLB? For pick 20?? Wish I could give you names myself but I seriously doubt any LB is being picked within the Top 20; Dean included.

Dean is too undersized. I would pass.

I don't think we are drafting a QB in the first round.

It would just complicate things. Give Trubisky a chance to lead this team. Trubisky is our starter with no one looking over his shoulder. If the org. feels he is just a bridge QB than draft a QB in the first next year.

Not sure Dean is 2 undersized, but I wouldn't take him at 20.
I totally agree about the Qb stuff.

Dean might be a good player but he is 6'0', 225, not ideal, and not first round, for a reliable every down ILB

Here is a novel concept. They can send someone to each location, or ...gasp...draft the guy even if they can't make his pro day?

not much different than bush in size.

i like what we have in the defensive backfield right now. wallace, sutton, witherspoon, minkah, norwood, killebrew. not crazy about maulet, layne, pierre with new coaching in here. i'd love pitre or cross added to this group. we would be in pretty good shape back there.

safety, wr are two holes that need addressed early. we lost one safety and 3 wr's this offseason.

this bringing the house thing is over rated. ohio state is in close proximity to them so yes they go there. they go to WV too. not a big deal. it doesn't have to be everyone at one guys pro day just because they did it before. they didn't have this much free agent action ever before either. they have seen a ton of willis and met with him. they have seen a ton of pickett in there back yard as well. colbert has seen a ton of howell. they went to geogia because they were the national champs and have a ton of top players. i don't think there is a big tell going on this year as to where they go.

We haven't used a first rounder on a WR since Holmes? The class is deep, but that doesn't mean there are a ton of pro bowlers in waiting. Maybe a bunch of JuJu's and Claypool's around, but I want a Jamarr Chase level guy. If they think Wilson, Olave, or Burks are going to be Jamarr Chase level good, then its totally worth the pick. If Wilson is there and Davis, the QB we want, and our favorite CB of the group are all gone, we kinda have to go there.

Shazier was basically the exact same size. I think he bulked up to 230 something for his pro day (i believe he didnt run the 40 at the combine), but was like 6'1 230 for his career with us. Not only was he an every down LB for us, but he was a game changer. Dean has similar instincts to Shazier. Just great speed and very instinctual player. Size is absolutely no concern for me. I would assume Dean gets picked before us though. I think someone is going to fall in love with him as a prospect. If Bush was 10 overall, hard to not like Dean before 20.
