I'd like him at about a third of what he would have made this coming season. He'd likely be more serviceable with a more competent partner inside.

Him and Bush would've been better with a good DL, Heyward was the only real starter on the DL all season long.

I still think this team goes in the trenches with round 1.

For those more draft savvy than I, who are we looking at?

Interior oline I say is good.
Tackle maybe but in round 2 at earliest.
    DT /NT/DE ( it's such a mess in a 3-4) is the way I lean.

I know @SteelHack@SteelHack has brought up a NT as a 1st but I worry about that at 20. Is there an oversized DE to target at +-20?

Outside of the current SS issue that's where I see a need for depth/youth/etc.

That would work fine for me. He’s not a bad player, but he was miscast at the Buck spot, and he played well below the standards he had set earlier in his career.

Yeah, he and the rest of that run defense were just a brick wall. :roflmao:

Yup. I wouldn't mind seeing him come back, but at that salary, cutting him was a no-brainer.

then the coaches should have fixed it but why single out one of the guys that made many of the tackles while having to cover receivers too. the d line didn't have all those duties. so yes it's easy to single him out as the problem it was team wide as you said. again he made plays for the team.

He wasn't the only problem. Nobody said that. He was the vastly overpaid problem, therefore he is gone.

i agree the salary was high. as i said hopefully they can bring him back at a reduced rate. he's still a pretty good LB in this league. we have seen far worse by far.

We are going to have to disagree on the solid year

If he had a solid year, and he is young, why do you suppose at the moment 32 teams, including the Steelers, are passing on him

On that point, we agree. I doubt that is going to happen. I expect them to give Bush every opportunity to be what they drafted him to be.

Well, that would naturally seem to be it, but if no one is offering what he wants, apparently he’s not worth what he thinks

Which goes back to what I’m suggesting

Honey Badger still out there. Has he not played well?

Bobby Wagner, Z Smith, Armstead, Gilmore, JC Trotter

A lot of good players still out there.. maybe they want to much money.. maybe they deciding between offers... who knows
