Not surprised regarding Cleveland and the Amari trade. Not only do they have the Cap Space to do it.. they have the desperation to do so as well.

This just alleviates their need for a WR... rather, I still would not be surprised if this also means that the Browns are not done with adding more Weapons to the Offense for Baker. That said, if I am Cleveland, I would focus on the Defensive Side of the ball; preferably Defensive Tackle where that position got shredded. If not the Defensive Tackle spot, plenty of EDGE Players to pair alongside Garrett.

All this said, Jordan Davis would form one HELL of a duo with Garrett. Both are physical freaks and both are not easy to take on by themselves. Adding Davis will give Garret more breathing room upon rushing the passer and having Garrett will make Jordan's life easier overall the same. If not Davis, Devonte Wyatt is just as every bit as formidable. Do not believe for a second that Kyle Hamilton is out of the question either as neither Grant Delpit or Ronnie Harrision are the answers for the Strong Safety spot.

    P.S.:

    Anyone who may be thinking that I want this to happen, allow me to state this;

I am not saying that the Browns should draft Jordan Davis because I want the team I cheer for in the Steelers to suffer. I am just saying that the Browns best interests are to do so; same goes for Hamilton and Wyatt.

    WOW!
Didn’t think Cowboys would give up such an important part of their Offense.

I did. Why? Check their Cap Space; much of their cap is tied into Dak Prescott. However, it is just more than Cap Space. Amari Cooper, DeMarcus Lawrence and Ezekiel Elliot all have either barely or failed to live up to their massive extensions; doubly so in Amari's case.

If we are talking about 2018-2020 Amari Cooper.. this is a different discussion all together. However, this is an Amari Cooper coming off a Career Low year; a fully healthy Dak throwing to him the same. Also to take note is that his overall performance at home vs. away is definitely something to monitor heading into the Season. If Amari is at home.. he plays like a Top 10 WR; Top 5 even. Away...., he either barely sees any action or just disappears all together; doubly so even in the past three seasons.

Given the fact that Jerry likely had seen enough of that, he decided that Amari was not worth the cost. Yes, he is not going to cause drama like other WRs but what should concern Browns fans is his performances away vs. home. That is what is not being taken into account here and, if it is, likely is being ignored all together.

As others have stated in this thread already, Amari's performance is greatly determined on where he is. For me, this is a trait I would not want in a WR; a WR being paid like a Top 10 at that. I need my number one to perform at 100% no matter where he is. Sadly, Amari has not been able to do that during his time in Dallas and it can be fair to assume that much of the same will be repeated in Cleveland.... with a catch...

Dak Prescott is not on the same level as say a Mahomes, Herbert or even Russell Wilson but Baker Mayfield is LEAGUES BELOW Dak Prescott; healthy or otherwise.

Two things can be true about my previous two statements.

1.) Amari Cooper is a Number One Receiver for certain.

2.) He is not the solution for the Browns Offensive woes.

Maybe Browns are dangling Cooper bait for Watson to throw to.

    Could be.

That said, Carolina is much better positioned to deal for Watson than other teams currently in the bidding to nab him. He wants a top flight defense, good offensive line and good weapons. Even if the Panthers deal D.J. Moore and some picks, this is the draft to restock and resupply WR Talent. If anything, much of the Panthers Offensive Line woes stem from the Offensive Tackle spot... namely though Cameron Erving. This is a very deep and very talented OT class... so finding a plug n play Offensive Tackle should not be much of a problem should the Panthers elect to opt trading their 6th Overall Pick. If not that... perhaps opting both D.J. and Christian McCaffrey Jr. along with some picks would allocate Carolina to keep their sixth though it is likely that the Texans would have to give up an early round pick in addition to Watson for this to happen.

Either way, look for Carolina to offer not just the sun and moon but the earth as well for Deshaun. Carolina has the defense... just needs that guy under center along with some pieces.

This was not always the case. Metcalf and chase are and exception to the rule.

I'll give you the after the first year but rookie WRs are not "game changers."

I dont think it’s that crazy from the Browns perspective they have nothing at receiver and need to give Mayfield a chance in his final year. Cooper is expensive in 2022 but can be offloaded very cheaply thereafter. It’s not like they gave up a haul of draft picks either, it’s essentially a salary dump by Dallas who have mismanaged their resources to an almost comical degree, leaving them in this situation.

Id agree that rookie WR’s are not always the answer, they can take a year or two to get going in a lot of cases. Browns need impact players now, Cooper is that in the right offence.

Still will not solve him from disappearing on the road. Heck, his 2019 Season is about as "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" as I have ever seen a WR from a production standpoint. For that matter, since 2019.. it has gotten a lot worse in all honesty; his best games being at home and more often than not exclusively at home.

People may not like OBJ due to reasons but at the bare minimum... OBJ would go all out no matter where he played; doubly so in Jarvis Landry's case. Now, if there is a WR to look out for production wise... Donovan Peoples Jones could be considered an option for certain. However, Anthony Schwartz could likely see the biggest boost given the fact he was third on the team a season ago behind Jarvis Landry for the Browns.

However and again, none of this will matter at present until the league has decided on what to do with Watson once the dust settles on the matter.
