Another pro bowl level QB in the AFc makes having Mason the Red nosed Rudolph at QB a joke. We are looking at 4-13 season boys. I guess we may get CJ from OSU which is a better QB draft class than this one. Could probably get a good LB or Ol with second round too.

Honestly, this should be a rebuilding year for the Steelers so I don't see it as a bad thing. Draft in a good spot and re-stock the cupboard.

Getting Wilson out of Seattle would have meant mortgaging the future and I don't think the Steelers currently have the talent to be a win-now kind of team.

Yeah we are about to see where the rubber meets the road with Tomlin and his coaching abilities.

We will see. For all we know Wilson career could die there.

Russ is too great for that. And they're team Is loaded. You Can argue they have a better roster overall than KC.

Again. We will see. If they don't do well ...I'm sure you can find an excuse. LoL.
I think Wilson is great, but I think the greatness of the Broncos is highly exaggerated.

Three firsts (including Fant), three seconds (including Lock), a DT, and a fifth for Wilson and a fourth. That's a haul. Do you really think we're that close to a Super Bowl?

That is insane. I give the Steelers crap for not being bold enough at times but never in a million years would I want them to make a deal like that.

I'm not expecting much this year. If Steelers can only manage 4-6 wins, then so be it. We need a top 10 pick in '23.

Agreed. You can fill a team with lower draft picks if you draft and develop correctly, but you still need top level talent to build around. That is a boatload of talent they will not see in the years ahead.

Ventured over to the Seahawks board and, I'm guessing about about 90% of the posters are bitching that.... They didn't get enough...

    Lol...Wilson isn't that good imo

Wilson is 33... with probably 2-3 years left before he starts to decline. Agree that Denver gave up way too much. I don't think Denver's D will be anywhere as good as they were when Manning took over last decade.

How about 0-17 to guarantee 1st pick in 2023 draft? LOL.

Last year was the year to start the rebuild, I know they made the playoffs but they kind of backed in in the end and weren’t even remotely serious contenders going to Arrowhead. They are a year behind where they should be in terms of team building, albeit I understand why they chose the path they did given it was Bens last year.

AFC is going to be a fire pit for the foreseeable with all these stud QB’s.

I dont think this team is bad enough to go 4-13 in 2022, they will patch up the holes and will probably reach 7-9 wins again. I dont think Bens play in 2021 was that far ahead of what a journeyman like Bridgewater or Mariota could give them in 2022, if at all. The danger then is getting stuck in no man’s land where you’re too good to get a top 10 pick but nowhere near good enough to contend.

...and maybe find a way to add a pick or two next year. Trade a vet or two that another contender needs for an extra pick in 2023. Not a core player (we do still have a few of those) but anyone on final year of contract or maybe is just average but will help another team wrought with injuries at said position.

And what if, mildly likely, Russ misses several games the next two years. It's possible Denver misses playoffs at least one of those and those picks become very valuable. When you go all-in on one player, the results, historically speaking are usually not in your favor.

I mean we haven't seen their full potential. No one thought Tampa was what they were until Brady got there.

Tampa brought in more then T. Brady.
They didn't give up a bunch of players, and picks. Big difference. No??

Whether you like it or not, the Broncos, at least in Vegas, became the fourth most favored team to win the SB. The Bills, Chiefs, and Packers are ahead of them. The Broncos odds halved from 25-1 to 12-1 and corrspondingly the Seahawks odds doubled. That's the value the books put on a QB.

The Steelers are now really behind the eight ball. Not that they couldn't beat a Mahomes, Allen, Wilson, Burrow, or whoever in the playoffs with Rudolph or Trubisky as QB, but how do you beat three of them in a row? It's very hard to win that many games in a row when you're outmanned at the most important position in the game.

Glad we didn't go after Wilson and even more happy this organization didn't break the bank for Rodgers. Both those teams rolled the dice big time on these deals. Denver even more so. They gave up way too much.

Steelers should take Pickett if he falls to us and maybe even trade up 3 or 4 spots if needed, otherwise roll with Rudolph this season. These huge contracts don't amount to much when the crumbs fall to the other necessary positions.

Hhhmm. Everything will be in retrospect, but the Rams gave up Goff, two firsts, and a third, but it got them a SB. Wilson is a better QB than Stafford was, so did the Seahawks give up too much? I'm inclined to say yes, but who knows? I'm sure the Rams are very happy with their trade. If the Broncos win the SB with Wilson this year or next, I guess the answer is they didn't overpay.

And the Bills, Chiefs and Packers were all favored heavily to win the SB last season, at least in Vega$. Instead you had the Bengals who were 200-1 odds to win the SB go and play in the game. Guess who was the healthiest team though throughout last season? Hint, they wear stripes. Oh' and they didn't break the bank to get there either. At least not yet anyways.

Free agency or the draft hasn't even happened yet, some Steelers fans starting with the doom and gloom already , those teams in the AFC West will beat each other up.
