many of these guys go to HS combines. they also test them in college at some schools. not sure where his came from. we shall see. most of these guys at the combine get trainers that are track guys to help them with starts and all kinds of things to get these times faster. some guys don't and run pedestrian times campared to the others when really field speed is similar. you are only talking inches in some cases. different positions are not as 40 time necessary as shuttle or 10 yard split times and cone drills. those can tell more for some positions.

What are your thoughts on Kyle Hamilton running a 4.6? I thought he would run faster, with him being hyped up as the best player in the draft.

I don’t think he’s worth the risk of a top 19 pick. Spread the word.

His official time is 4.59 per NFL Network. Regardless, he ran just about as good as I thought he would. Still wished he would have timed a bit faster but given how his play speed is much more evident than his timed speed, I have no issue.

Remember that Hamilton is a big man; 220lbs on a 6'4 frame at that. He is more of a long strider than a straight burner; something so many hyped him up too much to be. His physical dimensions can outweigh many of the speed limitations he may have. Tight Ends, Running Backs and most Slot WRs will have issues with him.

Now, multi role true number ones like Kupp, Hill and Diggs?! Use him as double coverage.

4.59 isn't any better than 4.6, I just expected a better showing after all the hype.

For most... no. For Kyle Hamilton?!... not a problem.

I knew he wasn’t, debated AQL over it in the beginning of the season and I was hopeful he might drop because of it. Too much hype around him now, he’ll never last to us.

If he’s as good as advertised I doubt that he’s off of too many boards altogether. He has likely just dropped down to a place on the boards where teams are comfortable getting a guy who won’t play in 2022, but could be a quality player in 2023.
