Which team (for a single-season) has been the best since the year 2000?

2005 Ben missed 4 games they finished 11-5. In 2008 they were 12-4 and Ben played all 16 games.the six seed narrative is just stupid. If Ben played all 16 games they would have been a much higher seed

It's not stupid, they needed to win their final five games just to get the sixth seed.

2008 12-4 Ben played 16 games. 2005 11-5 Ben played 12 games one more win they would have been the 3 seed. Also Ben was 22-3 in the regular season prior to the motorcycle accident. I think the argument between 2005 and 2008 Steelers is pointless but to say 2005 was a 6 seed and that’s why they suck is stupid. Ben just happened to stay healthy in 2008 and Brady tore an ACL week 1. Most likely Tomlin never gets the super bowl win if Brady doesn’t miss the entire season.

The Steelers went 2-2 for the four games that Ben missed. Ben would have won the 2 games that Maddox started. Maddox threw 3 picks in a horrible performance against the Jags that was a close loss and Maddox took the Ravens into OT but threw an interception at midfield in OT that led to the Ravens win.
If Ben would have played all 16 games in 2005 the Steelers would have probably been 13-3.

Nobody said the 2005 team sucked because they were a 6 seed, the 2008 team was better IMO.

I think you meant to reply to Steelers rule. I was arguing the 2005 team was good

I knew that. I should have had my first sentence mentioning that I agreed with you instead of jumping right into the facts about the 2005 season.

I don’t think there’s any doubt that the 18-1 Patriots were the best team of the past 20 years, but they didn’t get it done in the biggest game, so C’est la vie.

As much as it pains me to say it, the best of the last 2 decades to win a SB is probably the 2016 Patriots that beat us in the AFCCG before winning the SB when Atlanta melted down. They were 17-2, 3rd in the league in scoring and 1st in points allowed.

Honorable mention to the 2013 Seahawks and the 2009 Saints.
