If Pitre is gone, the Sporting News mock has us taking Lewis Cine a safety from Georgia in the second round. Cine is described as a "physical, violent tackler" although they said he needs to improve with his pass defense.

I'd rather us just re-sign Edmunds than take a Safety too early in the draft this year. He is a solid enough player that can be had at a pretty team friendly number. We have other (way more) glaring needs to address before replacing areas where we are just ok. We the worst rush defense in the league when measured in YPC and the worst OL in the league. Lets try to fix those areas first. Its gonna take more than just a guy or two.

Although I do like the video. Hadn't seen anything on this particular player. Seems like he could be a solid pro.

A good option for certain. That said, only one major problem; Mike Tomlin has only employed one safety under six foot since his tenure here in Troy Polamalu. Post Polamalu, only one other in Shamarko Thomas and, succeeding him??... no one else. Not 100% that the team elects to scout him at Baylor's Pro Day though I personally would not be disappointed.

All this said, Jalen Pitre is going to be one hell of a player should he continually play that STAR role along with developing his overall safety skill set. The foundation and fundamentals (for the most part) are there... just needs some time adjusting towards the more finite nuances of the position.

    Isn't Ryan Clark 5'11?

I thought he was 6 feet even? Even so, that would mark two if that was the case. However, post Shamarko.. not too many other examples from him.
