Word has it Nnamdi is gonna get cut because they don't wanna pay him the rest of his massive salary. IF we could get him would you guys think it's worth a try? I want a shutdown corner desperately and I know he's done bad in Philly but that's mostly because of incompetence on their part. I'm not saying I would give him a bundle but I think it would be worth a try if we could do it.

Erm... doesn't the "massive salary" part ring at least some alarm bells?

Yeah. I was thinking that too but if noone seems to think he's worth that then he will have to take a pay cut or stay home. I hope noone thinks he's worth what he's asking and we could have a shot to get him. Maybe he isn't what he once was but I still think he's ultimately better than AT LEAST Keenan Lewis.

i'd sure rather get one high in the draft. we are due for one to add to what we have. NA is terrible in zone coverage and not a good tackler in run defense. our corners can tackle and always could. not to mention we have no money.[IMG]

i think he has been a bust. no one threw his way when he played in Oakland, but know they are going at him and he is being exposed.

I thought he did good in Oakland when they were throwing it to him. I have a friend whol loves the raiders and he really liked him. But if he HAS dropped off and we can get him at a bargain I would try to. I just SO desperately want a cover/shutdown corner so bad I'm willing to try anything to get one.

I'd take him for the right price. He could always be cut and could he really be that much worse than some of what we have? Not stating an opinion here just asking the questions!

jim i don't think he's going to be a guy that just comes in to see if he can make the team. he will have some type of upfront money paid to him. he's not going to play for league minimum anytime soon. he's not a good fit here at all. i wouldn't be suprised if NE ends up with him somehow though for a couple of candy bars or something. i'm not sure how they keep doing this stuff. they just got talib for a 4th round pick. his suspension was up on monday. Don't get me wrong, I think Scrabble is still good. It's just WAY too much money. For those who want him do you also want Wallace by any chance?

NA was good in the Raiders system because he played man to man in a single high safety set, Philly tried to put him into a zone defense and he could never get it. The problem is that he ends up staying with the reciever to long and ends up leaving his zone and teams have taken advantage of it. When Philly plays to blitz and uses NA in a man to man matchup he does well. He would be good here just no where close to what he wants paid.

Gee, what happened to the Dream team: Like Dan Snyder found out, you cant buy a Superbowl in this league, now that the iggles are in trouble they want to dump their overpaid players like Nnamdi, the best way to go is to stick with the draft, if we want a top corner then it seems like the first round of next years draft is where we can get one and for about a dime on the dollar of what NA would want to come here, nope on Nnamdi.....

the Steelers dont need to go out and get these high priced guys. they draft well enough and they always seem to sign a couple undrafted guys that do well.

they also spend their money on their own guys. they have been able to keep most of their top players over the last decade or so.

there was a time that they wouldnt resign there own. the player would get good and want too much money and they usually let them walk. atleast now they keep their top players.

this is a team that is always competitive. i would bet that the Redskins, Eagles, Raiders and every other team that tries to by a super bowl would much rather be in the shoes of the Steelers. draft good, sign low end free agents and put their players in the best position to succeed. thats the Steeler way and it works pretty well.

ive stopped hoping for the splashy free agent signing because i know its not coming.
