Lost 4 games total in college. Already has 7 losses in his 1st year in the NFL. Bet he's wishing he dropped a few more spots to perhaps Buffalo or Green Bay.

Almost all of the all world amateur talent go into the NFL losing a handful of games before they reach the pros. That's why it's the pros.

If you are good enough, you also get to go to a team that is more than likely struggling to win and need your talent to start winning.

However, the last 2 games, I don't know if he's injuries or what, but Harris as regressed. He isn't hitting the open lanes with any authority and is dancing too much.

I wished he had vision and could see the holes when they are there

I bet he's worn out. Plays in the Playoffs last year, National Championship , gets ready for the draft, moves 2 the burg, and now has 2 play 17 games. I bet this off season will be like heaven sent.

I dont watch much ESPN but i saw a little this morning, They were saying the same thing abt Harris that he has def hit a wall, and you cant blame all his lack of production on the Oline

That O-Line is garbage right now. It may be a combination of them being bad and Ben’s inability (or maybe that’s the play calling) to throw intermediate passes to back the defense up.

He hasn't impressed me lately at all. Hopefully he's just hit the rookie wall. I could definitely see it. He's been hit in the backfield all year long and has had to fight for every single yard. He isn't gifted anything at all on this team.

With that said, his vision has been suspect for most of the year. That could easily be him wanting to do too much rather than take what is there and play another down. That's a problem a lot of young RB's have. They aren't used to holes being so small and holes disappear so fast in the NFL as well.

I don’t think he hit the Rookie wall.
    He’s in fabulous shape.

He hurdled over a guy today.
He ran hard and fought back.

I really like Harris, but he hesitates way to much. Just put you head down and run.

He didnt do anything untill the game was out of hand, then its because KC was more or less letting him run

T J was spent at the end of his rookie season. He was a significant part of why we lost to Jacksonville. He seems to have gotten better with age :smiley1:

More than anything I think he's lost faith in the line more than anything else. it's hard to hit holes hard if you think they won't be where they're supposed to be.

Can't blame him if that's the case.

How many years will this be in a row that AR says we need to fix our running game. Yawn.

I'm no expert, but I haven't seen what I want to out of Najee just yet.

He isn't a side to side runner. He has to be north south, he dances at the line, failing to hit the hole, and still wants to hurdle guys. I like his fight and ability to push the pile foward at times.

This offense needs to be tailored to him. A MUST is to get a HOF caliber mauler of a guard in front of him.

I have been wondering if we could ruin Najee, like what happens to high drafted QB's that wash out after going to horrific offenses. He seems very coachable though so if we can get some component players and coaches it might still work out.

Like him or not, he just broke the Steelers rookie record for yards from scrimmage, held by Lev Bell. Bell averaged a blistering 3.5 yds per attempt, and Bell had two perennial All-Pros in their prime blocking in front of him at center and guard, along with a real passing attack.
He's 71 yards away from breaking Franco's rookie rushing record. Pretty sure the original Harris had a better o-line and passing attack than Harris 2.0.

A first round player drafted in the mid 20's, you're hoping for top 10 at his position in the first year. Nagee is fifth in rushing yards and 6th in receiving yards for a rb. Yes, he's third in rushing attempts, but he has 0 fumbles on the year. And he has an excellent chance to be a 1000 yd running back and a 500 yard receiver.

All behind a JV Offensive Line. I am stunned he broke any records to be honest.

I'd be willing to bet he would have more success with an actual FB in blocking for him but that's not our MO.

He would have torn us up if he was on the other team yesterday. You've got to almost be superhuman to make plays on this team.

Agree, concerned if we could ruin him. Why haven't the coaches seen how he now hesitates and looks slow and tentative running. That's what bugs me the most. Also please no more swing passes to him to the outside. How many times this year do we do this same thing with the same results negative results.

He also had a lot of carries in college and as we’ve seen over the years a running back’s legs have a limited shelf life and they typically fizzle out quicker than other positions. It’s obviously way too soon to be giving up on Najee and I’m hopeful that he’ll have a few productive years with the Steelers, but we’ve got to address the big uglies in front of him. I like that he fights for every yard, but he seems to be trying to be Leveon Bell at times with his dancing behind the line. He doesn’t appear to be the most instinctive runner either. He needs to hit the hole (or the crack) and go!
