I think your right on the first prediction but I think maybe Ben wants out of this unless they offer him Canada’s job.

thats kind of cool and funny, Ben as OC next year,
but look, I dont think Ben or the whole offensive team got a fair shake this year because, lets face it, (IMO) Matt Canada is one and done, I want to see on OC who bring confidence to the offense, some swash buckling especially in short yardage. You saw that tonight from the Chiefs. (IMO) We are looking for a new offensive coordinator

They shoulda thought of that last year when better OC candidates were available.

I don't see how Ben comes back.
This is his last season. If he gets benched I will snap.

    They should fire Canada tonight!
That 5 game stretch of not scoring a first half TD since 1940, should be enough proof he sucks!
Harbaugh fired his OC a few years back, during the season. We don't have the testicular fortitude to do that.

Tomlin has been horrible towards Steelers greats in my opinion from benching Harrison without telling him and refusing to move him; to Dick Lebeau having to say "I'm not retiring" based on prior handling of Arians etc.

I wouldn't put it past him. Just this year Decastro was irate over how he was cut.

Benching Ben is a great way to scapegoat someone else even before the annual firing of the OC.

new OC that has promise (dont know who that is at the moment) if that happens, we'll see, (Matt Canada one and done imo) I wld prefer Ben over Mason next year , maybe they draft an intriguing prospect like that guy from Liberty Malik Wilson or something, I, right now, think Ben coming back w a new OC is better than Mason or a rookie

I think the telling moment of Canada's season so far was when we were 4th and 4, and he dials up NH to run sideline-to-sideline. And when he got stuffed by 3/4 of the KC defense, MC pounds his hand on the booth table like "dang! that should've worked!"

No, Matt, that should NEVER have worked. You should NEVER have called such an idiotic play. That play shouldn't have been in your Top 10 choices for plays in that situation.

Should he be fired? Meh... maybe. The OC isn't solely responsible for this mess we see each week on the offensive side of the ball. We have a couple of suspects on the offensive line that haven't helped us much. And DJ suddenly reverting to Dropsie McButterfingers isn't ideal. Let's not even talk about Glass Joe starting receiver over Washington.

My point is that firing him at this point is closing the barn door way too late, and it won't remedy the clown show we've been seeing lately.

Oh, and did I forget to mention the D getting torched from the time they exit the tunnel before the 1st quarter? Again, not helpful.

so how about this, and this is only a hypothetical, Ben comes back so we draft not for a QB but for o-line and d- line help, starting now, Bring Ben Back ... Bring Ben Back, ... BBB

I may be in the minority, but I don’t think Canada will be fired, although he should. The reasoning will be Ben is not the right QB to run this type of offense. With Ben out of the picture, the offense will flourish with another QB running the show. While I think that’s a crock of horse manure, that will be the narrative to keep Canada employed.

Imagine Canada stays, Ben retires, Haskins balls out in camp/preseason and gets the starting job…and the offense is on fire.

    Heads would explode.
