I think his 2022 salary is around 8 million.

We look like a team with a lot of cap space.

Not as much as Cincinnati so don’t get too excited. We are going to go backwards before we go forward.

Hopefully the steelers spend wisely and efficiently. I think an OL or two should be in the works, depending on where they draft in the 1st round

I'm not excited at all. My point was that our team looks like a team that has cheap talent.

+1 on this. They need to draft OL in the 1st round and go get a legit LT in FA or trade.

Because of the number of one year contracts given this year, there will be an excess of free agents next year compared to past years. There will be a short frenzy of teams over paying to begin. Then, as in the past, the Steelers will look for quality vets at a fair market price. We should get better next year. But not great. And Cincinnati with more cap room, will pull away. We might be able to be number two in the division.

Cincinnati is typically in the first group of free agent bidders, way overpaying for a guy or two, and that said person(s) don't live up to their contracts etc. I expect them to be no different in 2022 especially with the amount of money they'll have at their disposal

Two notes- Cincinnati has $14 mil more in cap space, but 6 fewer players under contract. That can go really quickly.

Also, even if we sign Minkah to an $18 mil a year contract to make him highest paid, it would only take $7.4 mil off the cap, as he is already slated to make $10.6 mil this year. And it wouldn't be $18 mil this year, probably more like $12 or $13 mil this year, so only about $2 mil out of that $43 mil.
