I assume this takes into account Ben returning?

So if We get A. Rodgers, or Wilson like some people (not I ) want, and sign Minkah....We will have like 2 dollars leftover. Yeah that should make us Hells better. LoL

I heard 70 million on the ESPN Radio in St. Louis (they had one of the local Pittsburgh beat writers on last week). I'm not sure if that's 100% accurate or not.

Correct, there are also guys like Schobert, Haeg and Banner accounting for over $15m in moveable / cuttable money between them.

They can easily do restructures and borrow from future years as well given that the cap is likely to go up at least 10% the following year.

They have a lot of cap room available in 2022, more than what they appear to have now. That said, the roster is poor in a lot of areas and they will need every penny of it if they want to put a competitive team on the field.

In a perfect world they draft Pickett in the first round and he turns out to be good, use the rest of the draft and free agency to fix the other holes. It is not a perfect world however, as we know only too well.

The Steelers will have some dead money in 2022, so I doubt they will have 70 million.

We should have plenty to continue to build a championship team. Repeat continue.

Dianna Russini on Get Up today said Aaron Rodgers is peacing out after this season even if he wins the Super Bowl. She said he is excited about controlling his next move. If the Steelers get Aaron Rodgers, they will go offensive lineman until there are enough OL to build two nfl teams, haha.

When I read "Peacing Out", I assumed that meant Retiring.

I hope the Broncos completely overpay allowing the Steelers to swoop in and pickup Bridgewater.

Although in the truly crazy world you would see Ben going to the Broncos to play for his childhood hero John Elway.

In this crazy NFL I'm sure of nothing but I don't think the Steelers will grab a QB through FA. Not their style. This is a very interesting time for Steeler nation.

I am guessing Pickett is the top QB in draft. Not sure. Imagine if Ben returns, then we can wait for Young out of Bama. I think he has another year???????????????????????

With or without Ben, it doesn't matter. Ben will either have a 10,340,000 salary or the Steelers will have 10,340,000 in dead money in 2022. That is already factored into the 43 million

Cincinnati with that much space is not good. We will loose ground.

If Green Bay doesn’t do well in the playoffs they may as well part ways with Rodgers.

Based on the cap situation and roster of the 49ers, I think our next QB is Jimmy G. I don’t know what’s left on his contract/his cap hit. But they need the space. And have drafted his replacement. I’m not a fan of his, but if we go vet QB I’d put my money on Jimmy G being a Steeler next year.

Why would we spend money on Jimmy G-string. If not getting better than what We have Why bother. Hell I'd ride with Mason before spending money on others junk. JMO

I said I’m not a fan of his. But taking a team to a super bowl is light years better than getting beat silly with your own helmet. And supposedly Tomlin prefers a vet. If that’s true, I think it’s Jimmy G. It’s a pipe dream to get Rodgers. And Wilson isn’t getting out of Seattle.

Honestly, probably get torched for this. But if Watson can clean up is legal BS, I’d go after him. The price will drop, as the Houston coach and GM can’t have an asset like that sitting the bench another year. Burgh would be a good place for him to rehab his image…be a winner and people will forget he’s an idiot.

One thing...there has been a bunch of Qbs get lucky and go 2 a SB , lose ,and never get back. That was a great team.
Watson....Well nobody has a clue when His problems will be over. You wait on Him , You could be waiting forever.
Nobody knows anything really about all that.
IMO. Go with whatever You have.....fix the rest of the team that You can, and Draft a Qb next year when there are more, and better ones coming out.

I agree. I’d roll with what I have and fix other issues. Probably be a basement dweller (I’m not high on Rudolph or Haskins if they keep him around). Likely drafting top 10 or higher in 2023. Try to snag your QB then and have a patriots situation going like they have now with Jones.
