I think Jack Lambert gave up on the whole sport/NFL 35 years ago, he could give 2 sheets about Devin Bush

Chase Claypool is a symptom, nothing more. AB was a symptom. Juju was a symptom.

Even Johnson, who is a great player, gave no effort on that slant that was picked off. He was the reason it was picked off. Bush seemingly gives little effort on most plays.

There is a cultural problem on this team. Our players are complaining that there's no music in practice. Meanwhile the Pats practice outside in the winter in short sleeves. Their team Captain is a special teams WR who hasn't caught a pass in 10 years. Do you think that team cares about Tik Tok and headlines? Quite frankly, the Pats should be the measuring stick. There is a Patriot way and it's proven to be very, very successful since Belichek took over. There used to be something called the Steeler way. It doesn't exist anymore.

I always thought Tomlin was overrated. Been saying it for 10 years, but the moment he stepped on the field to interfere with the play is the moment I realized what kind of coach he is and what kind of culture we have, and it's not a good one. It's only gotten worse since then, and if you think it's going to get better with Tomlin at the helm, you haven't been paying attention

Since the Cleveland Playoff game our boys have played some terrible first half's.

If Joe hated the Minn. first half I'd love to know what he thought of that Brown Playoff game.

I doubt the refs knew what he was doing. If he did it over another player they would have definitely called it. He talks to his coach about it on MIC'D Up (8:20 of the video). Dude is goofy.

Stop saying it's the new NFL. Yes other players on other teams are on social media (that is the end of its the same). Please point to the team that had a celebration while the clock was running like Claypool did. When you cant come up with one then its NOT the same.

    There's two subjects here:

    1) what MJG thinks of defense
    and
    2) comments about CC

Obviously (tongue in cheek tomlin) the defense has been horrible.... but as I stated in another thread.... we don't have a full set of players qualified to play hardcore defense at the moment. Yes, for a defensive guy like Greene or Lambert, it would be very tough to watch.

Chase.... I attribute to the showmanship aspect of today's game. Not making excuses for him.... but so much of today's NFL is covering the next great symbolic reaction..... aaron rodgers belt move..... TJ watt's sack stomp.... you name it.... someone needs to make a signature move..... but the young immature side of CC needs to be aware of situational football..... when your nuts are in a ringer..... friggen move faster..... save the showmanship for work between the 20's or in the end zone when the game is in hand. I think it's a minor issue than will resolve over time as he matures.

Do you see New England ever having to deal with **** like this? No. And they're not the only team.

Another team or another situation? Do we all remember Plaxico's introduction to the difference between college and pro football? Spiking the ball before the whistle.

To your point though it does happen week in and week out not so much the celebration as time is ticking but players simply unaware of the situation. Instead of getting down or getting out of bounds they fight for extra yards. Heck some better coached teams actually will recognize that a player isn't aware of the situation and will hold them upright to prevent a whistle. Claypool's brainfart looks bad because they are marching up field to try and tie the game. Let's be honest if it's not 4th and 8 where the Vikings are gifting them the 1st down in the middle Claypool doesn't waste time on the celebration because it's a sideline completion and out of bounds.

I'm not sure holding up the team that does everything it can to gain an advantage over an opponent even if it is in the shady grey area of legal/illegal is the measuring stick we should be using however up and until that point you have a point. They are well coached and well controlled and this sort of outlier rarely happens to them.

I read this today and thought that if any single player in Steelers history deserves the right to levy criticism at the team it’s Mean Joe Greene. He earned it and I hope every word he said stings like salt being poured into an open wound! This defense is a disgrace to the legacy of Greene, Lambert, Blount, Ham, Shell, Greenwood, White, Holmes, Russell, Wagner, Thomas and all of the other great defensive players over the last few decades who worked their tails off to make the Steel Curtain proud! As far as I’m concerned there are only two players on that defense now, Heyward and Watt, who are even worthy to be given honorable mention among the great Steeler defenders of the last half century!:nono:
