Broke the tie with Brady to move to the number 3 spot with 51 come from behind wins in the 4th quarter! 10 of those 51 have come against the ravens. Say what you will about Ben but he's got guts and is pretty damn clutch when it counts. He will be sorely missed when his run is done.

If big been played most games like he did last night I want him back for the foreseeable future. Problem is he has too many clunkers any more. And two of his biggest were our two most recent playoff losses.

As said above too many clunkers as he ages.

I'll miss the hope he gave me when we were down late in 4th qtr., so many times he had me flying off the chair in joy.

After yesterday's game I have that little light of hope he can have one last hot streak.

340 yds or so and he passes Rivers for 5th in passing yardage.

I am glad people are rejoicing Ben after a great win but let's be realistic. One really good game doesn't erase so many not-so-great games over the past few seasons and this one. It helps, but only temporary if he can't string some together down the stretch. Sure, Ben still has it and it showed last night (2nd half, not 1st) but these are more the exceptions than the standard right now. Game last night was a display of terrible offense/ defense to start, Defense that nearly cost us the game in the end, ST's that was not that good, guts to find a way to win, and a team effort with all pulling in unison. The difference between a great comeback win and a disaster of a loss , was TJ getting in the way of a wide-open Rat for a TD. Don't be saying I'm not thrilled to have won this game, I am. We are what we are and I am still not sure what that is. JMO>

I agree with everything said about Ben in this thread. But being one of the fans old enough to remember when we had qb's like Malone, brister, O'Donnell, tomczak, Stewart, Maddox and a few other stragglers mixed in through those years has gave me a great appreciation for our old over the hill gunslinger. Yeah he had some VERY boneheaded moments on and off the field but he got us to 2 superbowls winning 2 and one of those with a perfect game winning toss. In the superbowl Era there are only 12 multiple superbowl winning qbs in the history of the nfl and we've had 2 of them. They are hard to come by and it was nice to be brought back to a championship level after 25 years and it was all because we had the caliber of qb needed to pull it off. In my opinion he was the missing piece and without him the drought would most definitely have continued.

Ben had a great career. Steelers were fortunate he dropped to 11 and they reaped the benefits 100% because of it.

Only thing I would change, if I could, is winning Super Bowl XLV. If Ben is sitting with 3 Super Bowls and the Steelers are at 7 Super Bowls, these unfulfilled seasons wouldn't hurt as much.

That's so weird to say that I was actually having this conversation with a friend who was giving me crap about how hard I can be on the steelers. He's a raiders fan BTW but respects the steelers a lot. I told him that missing out on that 3rd superbowl put a urgency in my mind of winning another before we lost Ben and his prime and potentially went into a long rebuild. Plus I just wanted it bad for Ben and the remaining old guard still there at the time but more importantly for that 7th Lombardi.

I have two and my worry for their safety and health is maxed out. If I had 10 kids, I'd probably die of worry.

Just can't wrap my head around the fact that couples had 8-9 kids back in the day. I just don't see how that could be manageable in the world we have created today. 11 cell phones in one house:facepalm:

Wife from a family of 6 kids. Helpful hint: should you marry into a large family do not let them know you have money.;)

My wife and I have 7 kids, 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. When they all bring their spouses and boy friends/girl friends for the holidays we are scrounging around to find enough folding chairs for dinner.

Back in the day, most people did their own farming. Almost everyone was in the family business for their particular families. Kids were cheap labor and part of the building block in lineage and future business. Also, parents lost kids regular to diseases so they had to keep having kids.

Two good examples of what you say, China, them farmers got PO'd when that 1 kid rule came along. Their children were destined to be farm hands. I golf at a small course with a graveyard smack in the middle of it. About 25-30 markers and the ones you can still read show so many early deaths. I'm talking at least 20 of kids under 3. These graves are from the mid 1800's.

Then we have the Catholics who tended to have 4-5 kids in the 50's and 60's. I'd think it was most in America but I know dem Catholics as I have 4 siblings and wife has 6:rolleyes:

Over last 3 seasons, Ben is 18-11 as a starter including playoff game. It’s a team game. Ben was instrumental in the wins more often than he was to blame in the losses. Injuries, contracts, terrible calls by the refs, and questionable coaching all played a part. He may not be the elite QB we’re used to these last 3 years, but he’s flashed that greatness from time to time. And for those moments, I’m glad he’s here. Just keep winning, one game at a time.

Same timeframe, without Ben, the team is 8-7-1.

The course is on a very old farm. In the middle is the small, very old, graveyard (only 25-30 headstones). Course works around it but more then once I hit a wicked slice and smacked a headstone. I refuse to play the ball off a grave but my friends do it all the time. Sad as hell to see, born 1847, died 1848.

There is a family in Cabo San Lucas who had a small store at the top of "Gringo Hill" They had 13 kids! When I asked my buddy, Raul, about it, he just shrugged and said, No TV, no nothing to do......."
