    Agreed.

For me the fundamental drop off has been the rush defense in the past few games. Once a team can run on us like the Lions, Chargers and Bengals did, then there's not much you can do even with the best corners.

Earlier in the season, had the offense been sharper, we could have arguably racked up some more wins.

How come most of the time when the Steelers sign a defensive player to a big money extension, all of a sudden they are no where as good as what got them that big contract?

How could I forget. My friend wanted to hunt Marvin Lewis down and kill him. Talk about not winning a Playoff game:)

Yeah they can’t stop anybody on the ground. The middle of that defence has lost Tuitt, Alualu and Vince from 2019/20, Mike Hilton was also much better in run support than what we currently have and we know Bush is playing horribly. Everything that could realistically go wrong has, but I am still stunned at how easy it is for teams to run right through them.

It’s not an issue that can be fixed on the fly either because they just don’t have the personnel right now. Even if you want to bench Devin Bush they don’t have anybody to bring in with Spillane hurt now as well.

The Smith-Schuster deal did not cost them Hilton or Nelson. That was inaccurate when you posted it before and it is inaccurate now. They could have made room for Hilton, the one of those two they should have kept, but they chose not to do the shuffling necessary for him. I do agree that they put too much trust in Pierre, who just isn't good.

Green should be playing guard this season. They should have done more to address the center position.

You and everybody else need to stop with Washington. He isn't good. He doesn't get open. Get over it.

Your Maryland take is silly, but they did make a huge mistake with McFarland over Biadasz.

The poor 2018 and 2019 drafts are hitting the roster depth hard. They really haven’t had much of a contribution from those two classes.

Diontae will probably be the only player to get a second contract and even that is by no means a certainty.

It's worse than that - Tuitt is the only rostered player from the 2012->2016 drafts, and he's not contributing.

They made some bad picks those years too but at least guys like Decastro, Bell, Dupree, Shazier and others contributed and are gone for cap or injury reasons rather than performance reasons.

The 2018-19 drafts look like a bit of a disaster at this point, Diontae is the only one worth keeping out of 16 draft picks. Then you have the picks that were traded away for Devin Bush on top of that.

Man, I wish people would quit bringing Steven Nelson into arguments...I can see Hilton...But Nelson has been " right at the very bottom " of ranked DB's the last 2 years! Quit using the ole " we could have kept Nelson " narrative! He sucks!

Probably should have drafted Asante Samuel Jr.

    Dude is the real deal.

To me, Nelson is more steady than Pierre or Layne. Where the hell is Layne? Such a bad pick.

Only Dallas was smart enough to replace Barry Switzer.

You mean the 4 int yesterday Lamar. The same Lamar that is almost leading the league in turnovers. Don't confuse a great Qb with a Great Team, and coaching staff.

I think the Steelers made a mistake not taking a run at Carson Wentz last offseason.

You can add talking down a division rival while being arrogant and thinking it will be a walk in the park.

Nelson regressed into an average player who wanted a long term contract at top pay. The Steelers did not believe he was worth the long term investment and they are probably right. I can see him unemployed or playing backup next year. It was a business decision

Losing Javon Hargrave was another one that hurt. Granted Alualu was playing well when healthy. Hargrave is having a pretty dominant year from what I understand.

Say what you want but Nelson was solid here. Top 3 corner statistically here the last decade. I'm not letting that go especially for what we got out there now.

This Bengals beatdown was bad.... but so was the 55-31 beatdown by the Patriots in 2013. People act like Steelers haven't been embarrassed since the first two games of the '89 season.

The beatdown isn't uncommon. The issue now is the response... We need music and to dance at practice... WE ARE DOOMED

There was a Bengals coach yesterday that was asked. Was that a perfect game? and his response was. "Nobody can ever be perfect but if you continue to chase perfection then excellence will come".

Thought that was a great quote. Certainly better than "The Standard is the Standard" or this gem "We were all out of bullets".
