I think you'd better align yourself better with what the Steelers are doing, whether you like it or not.

They'll play for the most competitive team year in and out. It doesn't take cues from your "proper team building", so your continued complaining to it isn't resonating with the way the organization has behaved for 50+ years.

So, if they are looking to rebuild the team while also building the best contender for the year we're in, they well may take a top flight RB in a OL-heavy draft and address the line in the mid rounds. I'm not saying this is the perfect strategy, but it's the Steelers strategy for a long time. So, if they need to continue to address the line after this season, they will.

If you're worried about Harris' shelf life, why? You've said yourself that quality RBs can be found on trees. So once the OL is in shape to produce lanes for the RB, if it's not Harris, it'll be some other mid- to late-round pick, or an UDFA, right? If your complaint is against the organization for leveraging a deep draft in offensive lineman by taking a RB first to help set up mid-round picks on the line and set up for the coming season, well, raise $650MM and maybe you can buy the team.

Right or wrong in an individual's eyes, this is the way they've done things. But repeatedly focusing on Harris's selection in the first as an attempt to show the FO as "stupid" - along with anyone else who rolls with it - is, IMHO, stupid. You can disagree with it. But to plaster it in nearly every post as reference that the Steelers don't know what they're doing, when the real issue is you don't understand what the Steelers are trying to do, is ignorant.

The reasons why most Steelers fans love the team seem to be the same reasons why some seem to hate the team.

Lol, just answered another of your posts in yet another thread on this, just like the numerous threads you've hijacked with this over the past eight months. No one is laying out their blueprint for how to properly build a team. You're speaking from the stands; the organization is making decisions to a much more organic process. You don't have to agree with it. But they're always going to leverage putting the most competitive team on the field, while building to be consistent

So if they choose to take the best RB in a draft with one of the worst running offense in the league, and leverage the OL depth of said draft to pick up pieces for the line to help as well, they may well do that. Again, it's alright for you to disagree with it. But don't sell it as the team thinking a RB is going to fix the entire running game.

Edit: Whoops, multitasking bites me again. Replied to the same post twice.

They were 5-3 a few weeks ago, so yeah fans thought they could make the playoffs.

I'm not focused on dumb stuff like some Steeler fans, who gives a crap if the HC wears shades on the sideline, it has no effect on the outcome of the game .

It’s not over till it’s over. Anything can still happen. Or we might lose out. Who knows.

    Wrong.
It’s quite simple. If you qualify for the playoffs then you deserve to be in the playoffs. Winning in the playoffs is a completely different discussion.

I'm taking you grew up close to the Columbus, OH AB brewery. I grew up near the St. Louis location. Always made it interesting during my 15 years in Wisconsin being the only Bud guy in a Miller band.

Watch today's game again. Look at the schedule. Remind yourself that the Steelers would probably have to win at least five of their six remaining games to get in. If reality still hasn't set in for you, repeat the first step until it does.

Opportunity cost. Draft the RB if you're loaded and can burn a luxury pick. Poor guy will likely spend his career languishing on a bad team and be gone before we can use him to help win a title.

In short, they overspent for an easily filled, fungible position that's dependent on a lot of things they don't have.
