It obviously didn't rise to the level of concern. At this point the league and its working are a farce especially its player safety program.

Not if it’s a Steeler on the receiving end.

Given that the league generally doles out the fines mid week and the added holiday plus 3 games played on Thursday talking about the lack of accountability for very obvious safety issues this week seems appropriate.

At this point what difference does it make? I get being pissed/upset/annoyed whatever at the time, but a week later?

Doesn't have anything to do with that. It has to do with the timeliness. If they don't announce the fines until midweek and it's is a holiday at the same time you can't really have a discussion about player safety issues until you get the information.

The NFL needs to adopt a similar system to the NHL for fines and suspensions where they release a video that covers the rules applies them to player's violation and explains why the they chose that particular fine.

Yes, because the next cheap shot could put someone out for the rest of the game or season. I don't need for someone to get carted off the field or go to the hospital to be pissed off for more than just 7 days. It wasn't the case this time, but what if? When Boz got hit illegally and it wasn't called, I guess it didn't make a difference to you by the next game? It nearly cost us the game. JMO>

Yeah I’ve been around here long enough to know that isn’t the case. Holiday week or not this thread would still exist.

No surprise. It’s been a year and they still haven’t penalized the Ravens for stealing our Thanksgiving

That's true and undoubtedly there will be the conspiracy theory believers as well but we can still discuss the joke that is the player safety policy. It is the sort of thing that should be subjective above all else.

He wasn't fined because he didn't point at Najeeh. Had he done that, guaranteed fine. :lolol:

I'm not sure I've ever seen one from the NFL. Hockey does a very involved video breakdown showing application of each of the variables of the rule they players previous conduct and the reasons why they are applying the punishment. Usually the fan sites for football do a better video job than the league

I just thought the rule was the team sent Video of offending play 2 the League officials, and then it was gone over. I'm probably wrong, but I thought that's what I read.
