Actually I get a rookie not knowing. Hell ties in college ended a long while ago. What I don't get it's vets not knowing.
Also. NFL should not end in ties either . It'd stupid IMO.

Didn’t Cam Newton once say that, too?

Yep. Maybe they should pick up a rule book once in a while.

I believe so...now He had been in the league awhile....So no excuses for Him, but I understand a rookie not knowing.

Didn't this new rule take affect in 2017?

The NFL Network criticized the Steelers coaches this morning for some of the players not knowing that a game could end in a tie. There couldn't be any situational moments in practice in which the coaching staff addressed what the OT rules were. Najee said that after the first OT period was over that he was getting ready for the next period to start when someone told him that the game was over.

That has been the spin from McNabb apologists, that ties happened less often when he played. They are more common since the league went to 10-minute overtime.

Some of the Lions didn't know the game could end in a tie, either.

Did they criticize the Lions' coaches, too? Some of Detroit's players didn't know, either.

No they didn't mention anything about the Lions not knowing about the OT rules. They only showed Harris's post game press conference.

Yeah there was a rookie on Detroit that did know either. I heard it on TV today. Like I said I understand Rookies not knowing, but Vets no excuse.

The bad thing about Harris not knowing is that he is a big part of their offense and didn't feel any sense of urgency to get into FG range at the end of OT because he thought that the game just went on until someone scored.
Now he didn't handle the ball the last couple of plays and Muth fumbled anyway so Harris not knowing the rules didn't come into play but it easily could have.

You are correct. I believe the Eagles tied the bengals. When he said it there was already a tie that year in the NFL. So they don’t know the rules and they never look at the standings. Shows you how much they care. I knew the nfl had ties when I was 10

In 2022, they are adding the juice box and cookies to the end of OT tie so nobody feels like a loser.

I just watched Stafford throw a pass 1, and a half yards past the line of scrimmage...You think He doesn't know the rules???LoL.
Seriously If You played High School ball, then College, and now NFL those are a lot of different rules...so I get a rookie not knowing. Also I know a lot of Guys that played Football, but didn't really watch it as entertainment.

Marriages typically start with a tie (and suit) but rarely end in a tie.

Need to go back to sudden death OT, 15-minute period. This 10-minute period where both teams get a shot leads to more ties.

Play OT and if nobody has won then each team takes turns kicking field goals until one of them misses lol. Start at the 35 then 40, 45, 50 etc
