He did but, LOOKS can be deceiving... Mayfield runs around like a school kid about to get laid, and doesn't DO S*** with his rah rah personality!

Facial expressions and body language doesn't necessarily transfer into passion or will imo...Proof is in the results

Flacco was a way better Qb than baker...problem with Flacco, and I'm glad ....IMO...was after He won a SB, and got paid...it looked like He was just going through the motions.

Pickett vs. Howell. Both QBs Steeler candidates. I have this fear that Pickett becomes like Marino and we miss out but in this case because he's taken earlier than we pick in the draft. I'm trying to not let homer bias take over but man does he look great right now.

Yeah, he is really lighting it up in the first quarter already up 14-0. The bad thing is that there are 21 NFL teams that have reps at this game. If the Steelers draft after pick #15 Pickett will be gone.

So far Pickett looks better than Howell.

His long ball is effortless. Very noticeable vs. watching Ben throw deep these days. I know the Steelers don't like to tank but damn this year would seem the right one if they were gonna do so.

You're right. His deep balls have been right on the money. The receivers don't have to slow down, break stride or dive for the ball. Pickett is hitting them perfectly in stride 40 yards down field.

Howell had a great second half but Pickett had the big time throw in OT for the win. Pitt's kicker nearly cost them the game with 2 missed FG's and a missed XP.

I haven't watched more then 2 games each of both these Guys, but So far out of all the College Qbs I've watched this Year, and I've watched all the SEC Qbs many times...I Like Pickett the Best, but Like I said I only Have seen Him play twice so far.

Cornerback and OLine next year and go from there, I agree. They may also need a WR unless they keep juju

Depends where they are picking. If they crater the rest of the way and picking high, they have to pick a QB, Steelers don’t pick that high very often. Picking high doesn’t guarantee you will get a franchise QB but the chances are a lot better than picking 18-24th where the Steelers generally end up drafting.

Todd McShay said last night that Pickett is clearly the top QB coming out and could go to the Texans which would be very early in the draft.

Honestly, even if it takes 2 firsts and a 2nd, I trade for Russell Wilson.

It would cost the Steelers, who never have a top 10 pick, at least 2 firsts to get him anyway. Plus you're drafting one of the best QB's in the league. That has to be worth that extra 2nd.

Sign him to a 2 or 3 year extension. Yeah, you'll be paying $40 million a year but we're paying that now.

You've got a good defense. You're not paying jack to your OL for awhile since their all kids.

You draft another WR, OL, and a CB. You've got a young RB stud for 4 more years.

Make a run baby. Wilson is only 32. That's a baby these days. After 2 or 3 years, when there are some decent QB's to choose from, you draft and develop your new guy.

Oh yeah if a QB they like is within reach you have to take him but honestly I think they’ll be picking in the late teens or twenties again and it’ll have to wait.

I don’t like the idea of putting a rookie behind this offensive line, at some point they have to invest in it along with the secondary

Franchise QB, OT, CB, WR...I'll throw in DL, OG, and safety. Holes everywhere.

By the time they're all reasonably filled I hope Najee can still walk without a cane.

This obsession with the Najee pick is getting weird

Can I ask you, you’re Kevin Colbert and you are on the clock at pick #24. Assuming there are no offers to trade back who are you picking?

They will probably roll out a Brinks truck for Rodgers.

I've answered this in multiple threads...JOK, Humphrey, Dickinson, Jenkins, Newsome, Stokes, Oweh. Anyone at a more important position.

I know, I know, many of those were "second round players", because they weren't drafted in the first round like Jarvis Jones or Terrell Edmunds.

I'd take a RB at 24 if the only thing I needed was a RB, and I'd have plenty of other options if he got hurt.

Fair enough. To be honest I think in any draft there are probably 15-20 consensus first round player and then the next 20-30 picks are much of a muchness in terms of value, some work out, some don’t. Nobody would have batted an eyelid if JOK or Humphrey went in the first round as long as they work out. All you can do is take the players you believe can make it in the NFL and help your team.

The Steelers do have a lot of holes but they have some money for the first time ever after this year and they get to draft again in 2021.

That's the thing though. Even if Pickett is the Best, or top guy...doesn't Mean that's what the Texans will take. For Example with Sam Darnold, Baker mayfield, Josh Allen, Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson draft....Who would Have thought Baker would have been picked 1st????

Same. Closest thing to that right now is Kyler Murray. Both excellent QB's. There will be guys available, we just have to pick the right one haha I don't really care which style we go with as long as we get someone effective.

My hope is we do get him and he gets us the SB's we were so sure Danny boy would have. How the Dolphins didn't get a SB with him I'll never understand. If there were message boards back then I think Shula would have taken a lot of heat.

My guess is he only went first because it was Cleveland. Their system of evaluating talent is different from other teams.
