Promising them if they sign, that they'll have a significant role...And then don't

You’re still playing victim I see. From your very first response to me you asked for this type of discourse. I thought you figured out by now that if you don’t behave that way towards me, you get a civil discussion but you couldn’t handle me saying I want to take a wait and see approach and me explaining to another board member why people have an issue with her. I never called her a name, just explained the situation but you assumed I was a person who hates and distrusts all media and made numerous accusations and passive aggressive remarks since.

You should take my word for it, Thorn and Steelersrule6 both saw it. I saw it live, she was practically mocking him, despite your repeated assertions that it is a common mistake, it’s far from it. It’s so egregious that I have to wonder if she made it up, we are talking about AB here, is it so hard to imagine him a saying something demeaning and offensive to her that she wanted to retaliate? Cleaned up with “I don’t know how that could have happened”, no repercussions whatsoever. Whether she lied or was incompetent in that moment doesn’t matter, it’s perfectly reasonable to have doubts about someones accuracy after something like that. I’m allowed to trust and distrust who I want, don’t know why you have a bug up your ass about that.

I left the conversation with YOU, I’m allowed to comment on it in other threads without you stalking me on it, if I didn’t respond to you then what makes you think I have any interest in discussing it with you further? You would literally burn up every server TTF has because you just can’t stop debating someone. You never ever leave a conversation first and now you can’t even refrain from keeping it going in other threads.

Watch, you’ll reply to this, you can’t help it but I won’t, I’ll move on, until you follow me and bring it up again.

The Chiefs OL is playing worse than the Steelers OL right now.

I hope they keep him, he's not a star, definitely not worth big money, but I have to admit it was pretty badass when he got body rocked with a bad shoulder and came out fist pumping.

He had a significant role. I can't imagine they told him he would start.

No, my issue was not with you wanting to take a wait-and-see approach. My issue was with you attacking a reporter's integrity for one mistake. To be clear, I wasn't defending her. I mocking the generally negative attitude toward reporters on this board and pointing out that yours is an example of it. I correctly pointed out that if you are going to distrust her for one mistake, then you must distrust every member of the media because they all get something wrong at some point or another. If you failed to understand my point, perhaps because I didn't make it clear, so be it.

What you just posted here is even worse. You are making up some hypothetical motivation for her to want to get Brown. That is pure fiction. You can distrust who you like, but if you attack someone in a way that I think is unfair, I have every right to share that opinion. The media members who cover the Steelers are relevant to the discussions on this board.

Pointing out that you resorted to a personal attack is not playing the victim. It is pointing out a flaw in your response. I am genuinely disappointed that you sunk to that level.

My point about taking your word for it was to show that I've handled my side of this argument respectfully, not to cast doubt.

I honestly didn't notice or care that you dropped out of the discussion on the other thread. Your characterization of me stalking is inaccurate. I'm on this thread because the discussion of the trade and related issues interests me whether you post on the thread or not.

    Hm?

Are we talking about the credibility of a narcissist like Aditi right now? She is just like any other "Journalist" these days, controversial takes for tremendous interest. How so? I give you proof positive.

Reporting on an injury is one aspect. Offering an opinion, like this revolting one, is another. Journalists should, and I stress should, report the facts. Sadly, this is very seldom the case.

I thought you were done with the discussion. I guess you weren't able to walk away. :)

Yes, that was in poor taste, but it has little to do with credibility. Her job calls for speculation and commentary as well as reporting, so her offering an opinion isn't out of line at all. I don't like what she wrote, either, but it is a bit of a stretch to say that it goes to credibility. Then again, you've been stretching things throughout this conversation.

The funny thing is I'm fairly certain you didn't know about this when you were attacking her on multiple threads, but the 20/20 hindsight you are employing here is interesting. This Tweet still doesn't quite mean what you think it does, but so be it. This should be fun. How much time are you going to spend investigating her? :)

As I pointed out on the other thread, she says and posts plenty of things that make her sound like a Steelers fan, too.

I posted that tweet on here earlier this season, I think she deleted it after the backlash she received.

Oddly enough, I have a bigger problem with her doing that than any of the other things people keep trying to blow up as a big deal. Stand by what you posted, and if you think it was out of line in hindsight, apologize for it.

Lol at Steeler fans thinking national reporters and announcers "hate" their team. This type of fan is the most non-ego formed and immature, pouting if everyone doesn't root for their team as fervently as they do. I suppose she's supposed to waive a Terrible Towel and refer to the Browns as the Stains.

Alas, every fan base has them.

Going by what Ingram said when he signed about just doing what is asked of him, I doubt he was promised much of anything.

No player is promised anything but an opportunity and then they all have to earn the rest.

Multiple posters have made false claims that players have been promised playing time. That just doesn’t happen in the NFL.

No, A Tomlin go to...Blount ( never played ) got disgruntled, Williamson ( never played ), Burnett ( never played ) got disgruntled, Wisherspoon, Balledge, Bostic, ...I would think these FA's were promised playing time and hardly/ if at all played...

I guess it's good that Tomlin is loyal to" his own " but good luck trying to lure FA's here...When the mantra is you'll ride the pine

This is inaccurate in so many ways. There is no evidence that any of those guys were promised anything. They just wanted it. Blount lost playing time when it became clear Bell was the far better back. Too bad. Bostic started 14 of his 16 games with the Steelers. He just didn't play well. Burnett couldn't stay healthy. Witherspoon wasn't a free agent. They traded for him. Ballege was brought in to do exactly what he's doing.

Most of the guys you mentioned don't fit the narrative you are trying to sell even if we were to believe that players were promised playing time when they signed with the Steelers. Hell, you included a guy they traded for and a guy who started.

Claypool? Not sure. But in general - TOO EARLY to be grading drafts. Only have 4 starters this year B/C we sucked coming into the season!

Absolutely wrong. He is worth huge money and should be the new highest paid QB in the history of history. 10 yrs, 1 Billion guaranteed. Them more on the next contract. On a more serious note, he is one reason a team loaded with talent are bottom dwellers (still) and he definitely isn't a badass. My remote mute button is worn out due to his many commercials.

To get back to Ingram, it slipped my mind that Taco has been on the practice squad for a month.

The Steelers staff often get ripped for not being prepared for unusual events (like almost half the defensive starters out for the 2nd game of the year), but I wonder if they anticipated Ingram's reaction weeks before it happened. (Or at least, tried to be ready if things went sour.)

I'm not saying that Taco will suddenly reach All-Pro levels of play, but the Steelers have a decent record of getting quality snaps out of former 1st-rounders who were dumped by their other team.
