It ends up being under 25million per year for the next 5 years (24.4), and I can believe that his agent was wanting more; because I was hearing 30 million per year as a number being thrown around.

I like the idea of TJ just going into the office on his own to sign the contract and just get it over with. TJ gets a couple good Karma points back in my book.

Again, I shy away from the money side of sports but does that 80M guaranteed mean if he would get injured for season he would get all that????????

No Money guarantee , or not Bothers Me, but Cap Hits do. Now if the Cap keeps going up ....no big deal, but 2 years ago the Cap this Year was supposed 2 be way up....instead it went down , with unforeseeable consequences. We don't know that it won't again.
Again if it goes up...no problem.

Not my video and I don't necessarily agree with the author, but he makes some interesting points about the positional value and replacement theory

I was listening to Ramon Foster's podcast today and he was saying that the guaranteed money thing is a bit of a ruse.

How the Steelers work (says Ramon) is they don't do guaranteed money but instead make their star players so expensive they can't actually cut them because of the cap hit. So the player knows the team won't get rid of them, with the exceptions of guys in the last year of their contracts (e.g. Hines Ward). Apparently, that's the Steelers way.

Watt has had them do it the more standard way for the rest of the NFL.

(Don't shoot the messenger, this is just what Foster was saying!)

Watt is a lot more than just a pass rusher.

At least TJ is actually good at what he does. If you really want to get sick about money look at some of the CEOs who get huge bonusses for running companies into the ground.
