is it true or is MT just flapping his gums? personally i'd be starting moore at LT, dotson at LG, green/finney/hasenauer would still be a battle at center, finney/turner/coward/pridgeon at RG would still be a battle, banner/haeg/green, would still be in a battle. okrafor would be the swing tackle.

waiting for cuts to add someone?

the backups in some of the preseason were moving people in the run game. i haven't been real impressed by turner or okrafor so far. finney has played pretty well at guard. pridgeon has played pretty well at guard. haeg didn't look terrible at RT. had one bad play i saw. what do you all think?

 

I haven't had a chance to rewatch any of the games, and I have had company during all 3 of the games. So I have not gotten the chance to watch a game as intently as I normally would. But based ob what i have seen,

I think Coward has looked pretty good. I think Haeg has looked pretty good as well. I thought Dotson looked good while he was in the other night. I think Dan Moore has been very solid.

Kendrick Green has had some really bad plays that stood out. Nobody else has really stood out to me good or bad besides what I read here and on the depot.

Yeah they’ve left some money open and there will be good players cut in the coming weeks. I don’t think the OLine personnel is finalised by any means. Same with the secondary

 

I think in respect to Green we have to remember that he has veteran DT's facing off in front of him. They know he is a rookie and it's a position that requires a little extra work to begin to master so they are doing things to stress the situation. This is where having a vet like Decastro beside him really would have been ideal and we can only hope Turner fills that role now. He will struggle with the bullrush at times but think any of the teams using a 3-4 will prove the tougher challenge for him. Hard to identify who to block on a crossfire blitz and who to let the RB pick up for a rookie. I think if they get the ground game mauling guys Green will begin to excel.

 

Let's keep it that way.

 

We are talking about minimal exposure in pre season games. Come on Blast. Wait until a few games of the regular season before a ridiculous claim like this. I read a report the other day in some sporting newsfeed that had us 2nd worst OLine in the NFL now that’s just a projection but on paper it’s that bad. Hope they can prove a lot of people wrong and gel throughout the year.

I think that’s about as set in stone as it gets. Tomlin is just wanting these guys to compete. We actually have some solid depth at OL, our young guys just have to grow into themselves for this line Tomsk with a really good one. Moore is the swing until he overtakes Chuks, Coward and Haeg are solid backups and one of Hassenauer and Finney makes the team. That’s it. We don’t need to overthink it.

 

I think this OL will get Ben killed unless we go back to the way it was end of last year. That's what I saw the last time we played in a real game and that is what I believe it will be until it isn't.

 

I do think what MT is saying is that if someone is underperforming then they won't get a free pass. Mainly I think the most likely situation is Moore coming in at one of the tackle spots.

Sounds good, but realize those grades are marginalized. They are not based on the performance of the starting OL playing together and across from the other teams' starters for 60 minutes. There is no way to tell the level of competition each of them faced to get those grades.

That doesn't mean the assesments have to be wrong, and this isn't to say that they won't grade out well when it counts. But I wouldn't put any stock in those grades at this point. Way too much can change between now and when it counts.

 

That oline had Ben play 17 games after elbow surgery, he didn't die it did.

 

Haeg and Moore Jr won’t even be playing……. Well unless there is an injury or Goal Line.

Let’s revisit these predictions mid way through the year lol

 

For anyone to think this O Line is not going to struggle a bit until they gel is mindless. They did pretty well protecting Ben in his short stint against the Lions.

I like Moore over Chuks but he will start. Good swing in case an injury happens.

Green has had a couple of "Welcome to the NFL" moments but to say he hasn't played solid hasn't been watching closely.

Dotson's whole out of shape crap has been put to rest. The best O Lineman we have.

Turner as long as he keeps playing above the line and doesn't get injured will be fine.

Banner is coming off a major injury but is playing pretty solid. Hopefully he doesn't aggravate it.

Haeg makes the 53.

they don't pick up a football, except the center but they are just dumb linemen. big and ugly. rooting hogs. probably can't even read or write. yea right.
