He looked great, I just worry about how many hits he will take with this oline and new offense.

I haven't seen the breakdown but even with the line in flux the first 3 games haven't yielded a ton of pressures so far. Might not be as awful as some are thinking.

I think the best we can hope for is Ben of a few years ago and we contend. One last try at a Super Bowl before searching for the next franchise QB is what we are up to.

I see him getting at east 1000 yards rushing with out any long injuries. Already seen enough of him to say he WILL be better then Bell. He gets more yards after contact and can break a long one occasionally where Bell rarely could go more then 20 yards.

Wow, if that's all he does my 7-10 season prediction is wildly optimistic.

Ben has some success in a pre season game against a team that will most likely will suck this season and he has us seeing visions of sugar plums. TBH I feel the same way. Now watch our O-line get eaten for lunch in the Buffalo game and Ben and Tomlin look dazed and confused and all our sugar plums will turn sour and the threads will be doom and gloom.

I'm taking hope in Glenn, he almost hit the nail on the head in last years Prediction Poll and he has a very nice predicted year this season.

I'm still a Big Ben fan, and I'm rooting for him because I still believe he's by far the best option for the team, but just about every preseason, he looks great, and then something happens (injury, no running game, etc.). Let's hope this year there aren't too many negative factors, and if there are, that they are good enough to overcome.

Its was his 1st pre season game. He should be fresh. Lets see if he as agile in the later part of the season.

His arm strength is solid which is a good sign. Its the rest of the previous injuries that could be a concern down the schedule road. A solid running attack should help in keeping him somewhat fresh but the O Line still needs work in this area.

I think it the media bias that Ben is a washed up turd is largely over blown.

Ben played at high level and had the Steelers to 10-0 he was even being in conversation for MVP at some points of the season early and mid on, this with a surgically repaired elbow to boot.

He got largely figured out after that with the short passing, and then the Steelers couldn't run the ball at all, teams knew they keyed on it, then it became pretty evident it wasn't very hard to beat the Steelers, plus throw in the injuries to Dupree, Bush out, I mean come one Robert Spillane was starting, now it looks like Spillane might not even back up, and Buddy Johnson might take his job.

I don't think Ben is Mahomes, Rodgers, Brady (but come on even Brady isn't what he was, but he realizes he doesn't have to be)

If Ben can buy into doing some play action and commit to running Harris, McFarland, and Ballage, it will do him wonders.

He has to be the 25-30 passing attempt per game guy. He also needs to play better on the road. Always has been a difference the last 5 years between home Ben and away Ben.

Then we have to see how he holds up after Thanksgiving.

protect him and he will be fine, don't and it's not on him but the o-line if he fails late in the season. not just ben but the same is true for any qb in the league. we saw what happens to mahomes without a good line in the super bowl. no different. get moore in the game early and sit okrafor on the bench. we run we win.

not at all, just like last year if they don't let him get hit in that dallas game the year ends differently. he could step into a throw. any injured qb is going to not be near as good as a healthy one. our line has to do it's job for him to do his. it's pretty simple.

Big Ben looked as I expected he would a year removed from his elbow injury. For me, that is not the concern. How well the Offensive Line gels will be as that will be critical for Big Ben to stay upright. If this Line takes longer to do so, Big Ben will not make it.

He apparently worked on his mobility in the offseason. His knee seems better. I think his knee had a lot to do with some of his bad throws last year.

nope - the schedule won't allow it. Week 1 , L to Buff, Week 2 - maybe beat the raiders but we suck vs them over the years, week 3 - prolly beat the Bengals, but then travel to GB and lose, so, 2-2 in September. No fast start this year...

and our last month is brutal......we may grab the #7 seed, but i doubt it....

You're probably right. But consider, if we play better than expected over the first month, and we're in games, but just not quite there, we'll start looking at what "can" happen once we start putting things together. I know I do this. I'm not as concerned with the record early on as I am in how we're playing. That's why I wasn't geeked out over being 4-0 last season. It meant nothing to me because I could already see our deficiencies. I could already tell we weren't good enough to play for something meaningful at the end of the season. Again, our record means nothing early in the season.

ben is planting and zipping the ball pretty fast. Only his long ball was underthrown but if you watch it was basically a lob from him vs a strength issue. His arm looks strong even with the side arm motion

I think Ben is great and gives us the best chance to win week in out, he will be a HOF enough said. However, I did read an interesting article on yahoo sports earlier this week that stated Ben has a “tendency to show pass”, when in shotgun. They stated that his left heel elevates before the snap which is “tell” for pass, this is not the case when he hands off in shotgun. They also stated that Ben’s speed and following out the play are not the same for each. I remember the Washington Redskin game last year where the DL ran off the field saying they knew the tendencies, just wonder if this is associated. The article said they were making this public so that the Steeler coaching staff can address it.

18 QBs, more than half the starters, threw 30 times/game. 22 threw 25times per. Ben has been in the top 1-3 in pass attempts the last 3 seasons he played. He’s not gonna drop to the bottom half of the league in attempts. No how, no way.
