At least Samuels and catch passes. Hard nosed Benny get you a yard on 3rd and 2. Or 2 on 3rd and 3. Derik Watt can do that.

Agree, I was ready to throw Spillane out the window after watching his screw up again and again and again....

But I have to ask myself was he playing Bush's position and not his? Was he also having to call the defense?

Maybe he was simply just out of his position and being overwhelmed with the extra duties of trying to call the entire defense and play someone else's position?

That is why I really wanted Buddy Johnson to focus on being Bush's backup this year, and not compete with Spillane/Williams for the starting job. With Williams gone can we please call in Avery Williamson!!!

    Biggest overreaction from me?

Should he continue is ascension via his performance, Dan Moore Jr will get the nod over Chukwuma Okorafor. If anything, Dan Moore Jr is essentially a more violent Chuks with a slightly higher ceiling.

Much respect for the way you came back with this comment and stating that maybe it was an emotional overreaction... I still think you make a good case defending your POV but I see forums where the debate goes pages and years and the authors just dont let it go.

Its a discussion board after all but some authors in political, religious, or even a Steeler Forum take on a position where they have become gospel and refuse to see the difference of opinions no matter how strongly refuted.

Number one talent for a Wrs is availability, Number 2 talent for a Wrs is Hands.
Everything else is quite a bit behind those 2. Ask
    L. Sweed , and Darrius H.B. just 2 name a couple.

In hindsight I believe it was a huge withdrawal from Steelers football over the offseason and maybe a few too many cold ones that attributed to my minor midseason form freak out during a very meaningless scrimmage. Looking back I shouldn't have cared less if they just punted every down and let Dallas score a 100 on them to give their fan base something to be hopeful for while trying to win the weakest division in the NFL.

As if those goobers on the Dallas depth chart are the benchmark? There was some really sketchy QB play in that game on both sides.

Does Highsmith really have that many naysayers? He has people like me pointing out that right now, he's not as good as Dupree was before the knee injury last year. If he gets only six or seven sacks in 2021, that would prove me right.

What if he gets eight rotating with a real allpro (not a paid like one)? Is he better than your crush?

Nah. I'll go route running/ability to get open as 1. You can have great hands but it doesn't matter if you can't get open. Than I'd go hands. Than run after catch ability. Than speed/quickness and availability.

Juju is no where near as talented as Claypool. He's bigger, faster, quicker, jump higher. Juju has the better hands and the better blocker. Probably the better route runner for now but I think Claypool will catch him in that.

Ingram has never been an All-Pro. He has been to the Pro Bowl, a significantly lesser honor.

If he can't win a starting job, he's not as good as Dupree was last year.

The implication that I have some emotional attachment is comical coming from some guy who can't get past his frustration with the early part of Dupree's career to see what he became the last two years.

Imagine thinking sacks in isolation are a reliable metric.

    Dupree has never been either.

2nd Highsmith is better than rookie Highsmith, and they likely signed Ingram to be the rotational guy on both sides.

People might actually respect your arguments if they didn't sound like they came from a six-year-old girl on the playground.

I respect Scribes arguments, he does a better job than most in presenting them. He just happens to possess an uncanny ability to get under peoples skin in the process.
