Dream big, kid. As I always say, it's better to say "whoa" than "sic 'em".

What he supposed to say? “Washington made a mistake taking me in the 1st round, I just hope I can hang on as a journeyman for a few years.”

He hasn't played a down yet, let's see how he looks when facing a real defense.

Actually he has 444 attempts over 2 years. He’s played a lot of downs against real defense.

Apparently an audition to be our next franchise QB. Kind of like how Kent Graham was a franchise QB.

In other relevant or irrelevant (you decide) news... today is my 45th B Day! Raise a beer with me and lavish me with praise... or by all means keep talking about Ol Haskins.

have a good day folks... I’m going out for ketchup!

Not saying he can be this person but remember how Steve Young was essentially left for dead after his dreadful 1986 campaign in Tampa Bay. Much like the Football Team, the Buccaneers were...... not.. very good in any capacity to say the least; extending to even the Ownership. After getting jettisoned from the Bucs, in 1987, Young's prospects changed for the better with a winning organization in the 49ers. Of course, having the likes of Jerry Rice and watching Joe Montana from the sidelines surely assisted but the talent for Young was always there. Much of the same can be said for Haskins; a Top 15 Pick who flamed out with an Organization not known for consistency, stability and continuity finds a home with a Franchise that has said properties. The Steelers success and consistency compared to the Football Team's is the equivalent of Platinum vs. Bronze; a major advantage for developing a talented QB. In addition, while there is no Jerry Rice, or any HOF WR on the team, there is a HOF QB he can watch and study from in Big Ben. Furthermore, much like Young, Haskins clearly was not ready for the stage just yet and needed some time to sit; something I stressed VERY MUCH SO leading up to the 2019 NFL Draft. Why the Football Team thought that was a good idea will be anyone's guess but one's misfortune is another's opportunity. The opportunity?

Dwyane Haskins can prove he can not only supplant Mason Rudolph as the backup but also show enough to be the Franchise QB; a ridiculously rare talent to acquire as said component allows said team's road to the playoffs to become smoother overall. I still am personally rooting for him as he has all the physical tools one would ever want in a QB minus top flight mobility. His issues stemmed from a lack of interest in the seriousness of the game. Now, armed with a much better Coaching Staff, Front Office, Roster and some newfound desire, perhaps, Haskins does stand a better chance to work out than he did in Washington (more on this here.) Should Kevin Colbert strike gold with this, he should be a First Ballot HOF Member the moment his name appears as Haskins panning out will go down as one of the greatest highway robberies within the past generation.

... Again... should it all work out. I believe it can. Just a matter though if Haskins continues to mature and develop.

Happy Birthday. Mine rolls around in 9 days. I reinstated my buy myself cheap knockoff jerseys for my Bday this year and ordered the Kevin Greene and Aaron Smith ones I had wanted to order after Greene's sudden passing away. I decide to wait since a trade war had started and instead of free shipping there were charges. All is now good and hopefully by October I'll get them. Remember being 45 means that you lived through a lot of awesome times.

Genuinely hope he can be the next guy but if there was even a faint hope that he could be I seriously doubt Ron Rivera would haven cut him in Washington. Rivera is not a fool

It is obvious he has a lot of natural talent, but I really believe the short term goal for the Steelers is just to see if Haskins is really going to take this opportunity seriously, mature, and how he handles the mental aspect of the game. One of the rubs in Washington was he just did not appear smart enough..and/or was very lacking in preparation. I take that as a grain of salt because often these kids are thrown into situations because of where they were drafted without the team really taking the time to develop the talent. Outshining MR (and even Ben) throwing against a bunch of scrubs actually should be expected. Looking great against some Cowboy scrubs (most of whom will not ever take an NFL snap) should garner attention and even respect...but the real test is how will he handle adversity, people can do stupid things because of immaturity, learn and change direction, or that stupid reaction just may be the true nature of the man. Second or third string really means nothing, it is how he handles life situations, both on and off the field that will determine any length to his Steeler (and likely NFL) future.

Not sure what is expected of him to say. Personally I think he can be the next franchise QB. It's ultimately up to Haskins to prove it. He's still very young and can turn things around. I just have my doubts that he will.
