Damn, I really wanted Buddy to just focus on being Bush's backup this year.

    Not excited.

    A great special teamer and a 3rd ( in a 3-4 ) at best.

Maybe this is the year we finally see the "Tomlin 4-3" that all mentioned at some point comes out!

Exactly, the author tweeted a "doh!" tweet yesterday, still worried about his run D in base.

I wanted Buddy to ball out and make Bush HIS backup this year. Screw that psycho-minded, cat killer idiot. And yeah, it's personal with me. I want Bush off the team. I won't appreciate any contribution he makes this season. There's nothing he will do right in my mind. I don't wish any injury on him, but I would love it if he bumped his head, got amnesia, and forgot the way to the stadium for the duration of his contract.

He has reached Lev Bell status with me. He's not a Steeler. He's a punk. He needs to put his grill back in and start making rap music with Bell. They are made for each other.

While not as disgusted with him as You are...I do hear what You are saying.
I personally hope He plays Well , and I hope everything was a badly done joke.
Also I personally believe people can, and Do change.

How do you feel about Roethlisberger? His transgressions went a bit beyond posting disturbing **** on social media. Were you unable to appreciate any contribution he made to the team all these years?

I certainly don't like what Bush has done, but there are some bad guys on these teams. That goes for every team in the NFL.

I'm not a fan of Roethlisberger. Never have been. He was selfish and immature early in his career. His bad decisions off the field put his own health/life at risk. However, he left everything on the field and sacrificed blood, sweat, and tears for this team. He was also a good teammate. He spoke his mind and called out teammates for "football" issues, which was not popular at times. But was anything he said untrue? Did AB undercut that route? That's only for AB and Ben to say. Ben says yes. AB said, "Screw you, Steelers." I'll give Ben the benefit of the doubt on that one.

And Ben has owned up for his transgressions. He went public with the most private, embarrassing, and real aspects of his life, and he didn't have to. He didn't get caught cheating and THEN come clean. And those transgressions were private. None of us are squeaky clean. Every one of us, professional athlete or shlub, has skeletons in our closets. Even before coming clean, Ben fell short of the glory of God, as you and I have as well.

The difference between he and Bush is intent, not content. Bush is making lucid, public attacks against teammates, team, and Steeler Nation. Ben never came close to that. Bush is doing this before becoming a Steeler. Just being on the team doesn't make you a Steeler. Ryan Shazier won't have played as many games as Bush likely will in Black and Gold when it's all said and done. But Shazier is more a Steeler than Bush will ever be. Hines Ward wasn't perfect as a person or a player, but he's more a Steeler than Bush will ever be. I could go down the line with "real" Steelers. The greats of the dynasty years weren't model citizens. They had their demons and made some bad decisions. But they embodied what it meant to be a Pittsburgh Steeler, and what that means changes with generations and the current social landscape. Bush does not embody what it means to be a Pittsburgh Steeler. And in my opinion, he never will.

@S.T.D is 110% correct, however. People can, and do, change. Ben did. Bush can. And the possibility is very real that he proves me wrong and makes me eat these words. If he does, you can be the first to call me out on it, okay? I'll accept it and own up to me being wrong about him.

But until then, I've drawn a hard line in the sand in regards to Devon Bush, right or wrong. Thing is, I didn't like him from the first moment I saw him. I passed judgement on him unfairly. But as it turns out, he's working hard to make my snap judgement accurate.

I must have totally missed this. What did Bush do? And why is he comparable to Le'Veon Bell as far as attitude is concerned?

Does it hurt tying yourself into a ridiculous rhetorical pretzel like that?

    A few things...

Bush is a Steeler. That you don't like him doesn't make him any less a Steeler.

Roethlisberger did not own up to every transgression and we have no idea if he really has changed his ways or if he is just smarter about doing bad things. We've seen enough celebrities in and outside of sports to know that we are kidding ourselves when we make statements like that. We really don't know these people.

I'm not condemning Roethlisberger, but his actions were worse than anything Bush has done. Nobody's perfect doesn't justify either guy's behavior.

He posted a video of a cat falling to its death and laughed about it. He called out his "TikTok" teammates and told them to get TF away from him. He was punished for his tweeting and limited to 2 tweets a day by Tomlin with fines for over 2 tweets. He publicly laughed about it when he went over his limit. He drew the ire of teammates and laughed about Cam telling him to calm his ass down. He threatened fans through twitter who challenged him.

But hey, let's give him a pass because Ben was addicted to porn.

Is it that you don't understand the accusations against Roethlisberger or that you are intentionally misrepresenting them to justify your ridiculous stance?

Bush is making mistakes early in his career like many Steelers before him. A little overboard on the hate i believe.

I’m not so sure he was laughing at that cat falling to it’s death, there was no “LOL” or laughing emoji attached to it. I got more the sense he was just posting a shocking video, one which was 6 years old by the way.

I have no idea if he was directly or indirectly calling out his teammates about Tik Tok but I may have been the only one defending JuJu on this board so he’s just saying what most fans have been bashing JuJu over and to a lesser degree, Chase. In other words, who cares if he was calling them out.

Where did you hear about the 2 tweets a day with fines if he goes over? I assure you if that was said, it was a joke, you really think he could enforce that?

I didn’t see the tweet about him laughing at Cam either but again, if Cam was serious, he wouldn’t be addressing it on twitter.

I couldn’t care less that he was challenging fans, a lot of fans go overboard with what they say to athletes. If I was an athlete, I’d want to crack their skulls open too, so would you and you know it.

I was one of the biggest Ben homers around, his transgressions were far worse than Bush’ so far, heck of a lot more that addicted to porn. Hopefully this is as far as bush goes.

FWIW, Bush has really toned down his Twitter feed the past week or so. Let's just hope he was bored and f'ing with us.

Ben was accused of, but never proved anything.

    People seem 2 forget that.

I know Bush posted a video of a cat falling 2 its death.
Anyway I hope like some said it was a poor choice 2 get under some peoples skin . Like mine.

Actually, there is no dispute that Roethlisberger engaged in some disturbing behavior that night in Georgia. We just have no idea what happened when the door was locked and his buddies were standing guard so the girl's friends couldn't check on her.

You really should stop listening to other fanboys who can't accept the simple truth that their heroes might not always be good people.

Regarding whether or not she was raped, that is true. Police were very sure about what happened until she was in the room with him, with his guys bringing her to him in the bathroom, shutting the door, then blocking access from the outside. Remember, that group included Willie Colon, so these weren't exactly small men getting in the way when the girl's friends tried to check on her.
