Rational? I believe so, but who knows.

I wholeheartedly believe at the end of last season, Highsmith was able to play better than Dupree.

Yet again, forgetting that his was a small sample size and it was boosted by getting to play most of the Indianapolis game against a third-string left tackle whose primary talent seems to be impersonating a turnstile.

Your belief is not based in reality, but hopefully he will get there.

He had more tackles the next week vs. the Browns without Watt and Heyward, in a must-win game for Cleveland. Maybe the sun was in the LT's eyes that day.

If I remember correctly, they moved him around quite a bit in that game. Perhaps the sun was in your eyes that day.

Didn't Dupree get manhandled by a rookie in Dallas?

Is there a specific play you are talking about? If I remember correctly, the Cowboys' started a rookie at right tackle, not left, when they played the Steelers.

I can't find the oline starters that game, your probably right. I do remember a game hyped for him against a rookie that disappointed me. Tennessee?

It is totally based on reality and the condition and availability of each player and their ability to play at the end of the season. Since Highsmith had both knee's working I gave him the edge. I used green font to indicate levity in the remark.

Opening night vs. the Giants. 4 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 QB hit that led to Heyward's INT. The 2 TFL he was untouched, one of which a pulling guard was late to get to, which we debated earlier.

I like the 4 tackles, puts some weight in the run stoppage claim.

Before he could really pass rush he almost immediately could set the edge.

Roonatic was talking about a disappointing performance. That certainly wasn't one. Of course, you keep insisting that it was a bad thing that Dupree doesn't deserve credit for being too quick for the pulling offensive lineman to get to him.

Not bad, just fortunate that the rookie LT forgot to block him so he could easily avoid the pulling RG.

But I forgot, only Highsmith's competition can be used to qualify his performance.

I'll go with Maddog on his pass-rushing skill set, more of a clean-up guy than qb mover.

You tried to characterize Dupree's game against the Giants as disappointing, which is ridiculous given the plays he made. I never made any such claim about Highsmith's game against the Colts. I simply pointed out that he had two very good games in five starts and that one was aided by the opportunity to play against a third-string scrub.

No I didn't. Roonatic was looking for the game he was hyped to be going against a rookie, I cited it.
