They are saying Ben's new diet plan to focus on health stricter than Brady's diet. I hope it works well with him and keeps him healthy and playing at a top level this season. I only wish he had done this for at least the last 5+ years maybe even 10 years. I hope it isn't too little to late. It is kind of like changing the oil after the engine seized up.

Yeah cause we don't see people as they get older change their Diet, and actually start exercising.
Some have done it their whole lives, and some haven't.

Trust me I get it, but it has been well documented that he was not health crazed in the off season. By his own admission, he said one year he didn't even pick up a football after the last game of the season until training camp.

Yeah but that actually pisses me off though, how much better could Ben have been if he applied himself. Maybe theres a few less early playoff exits and a trophy or two more in the case.

I wouldn't get 2 pissed. We did go 2 three SB with him, and Won 2.
Hell Bill, and Mike may have never won a SB without him.
Also You don't know if it would have helped, or if He's not regretting it Himself.
Like I said earlier I've kept in shape my whole life (since a teen), but I have family members that haven't, they regret it, and now are trying 2 because of medical, and age.
I don't hate them for not doing it sooner.
I stand behind them for doing it now.
Just Like I stand behind him doing it now.

Yeah, I heard that Ben has added some veggies to his sausage and pepperoni pizzas to be healthier.

    :roflmao:

To many years of mismanagement, team wide.

Ben is done after this season, let the retirement tour begin. He can get as healthy as he wants, but it doesn't change the fact of age, being beaten up, injuries on top of injuries. Their is no magic potion, elixir that's going to change those facts.

They always want comparisons to the Golden boy Brady and they cite his diet, personal trainer drama etc. But they never seem to mention the treatment he has received by the refs during his career. Defenders barely touch the guy and its a flag and the defense knows it. Yet Ben was always taking big shots because he's "Big Ben" and can take it. I think he's done after this year too, but maybe he'd be a few percentage points healthier this year if the "Brady rules" applied to him as well. I think my Brady hate is showing :lolol:

Ben is one of those athletes that has size, strength and natural ability. I'm not saying he never had to work to be where he is. But, he didn't have to work as hard as some others. Now that he's older, his size is working against him so he is trying be smarter about it. Better now than never, I guess. Mario Lemieux was the same way. He never worked out when he was younger. Paul Steigerwald is quoted as saying that the first few years in the league he did not possess the body of an athlete. He just had freakish natural ability. Hell, he still smoked cigarettes the first couple of years he played.

There is no doubt that Ben didnt treat his body as good as he should have in his younger days.

But over the last 5 years or so, maybe even longer than that, I feel like Ben has kept himself in great shape.

It was well documented that Ben put on some weight after the injury. Nonetheless he came into camp in great shape last season.

Ben's body breakdown last year was not due to poor diet. It was due to age/wear and tear.

I`ll believe it when a see a lean Ben. It should be noticeable, even when he is in uniform. We should be able to say "Wow, what a difference."

If he is lighter on his feet it could make a difference in preventing new damage.

Seriously. We hear this every year, and not just about Ben. It almost never results in the player performing noticeably differently.

It’s a double-edged sword. Less mass means more easily buffeted/knocked around by defenders (and, hell, his own guys).

Ben never bought into the “vitamins” that Brady and Manning were taking.

They all can't be Kenny Stabler. Drink you butt off until 5am of game day, take nap and go out and play at 1:00pm

Throw for 3 TD's and 300 yards call it a day

Dude was a legend even if he was a Raider

When you think about people you would have liked to have partied with, Kenny has to be on that list.

He actually does look in shape, which is great, being in shape can only help. The only thing I worry about is the reports about arthritis in his knees, being in shape won’t help that. Hopefully those reports are overblown.
