I saw this on r/Steelers and thought it was interesting. It appears that Ben’s feet give away run or pass. Watch his left foot. Heel flat run. Heel raised pass. I looked at a couple plays on YouTube and it appears to have some merit.

I also heard this before. Might be something to it. I know for sure that Ben's footwork was awful at the end of last year. Could be a case of Ben cheating to get to his first step faster. This happens a lot with injured players.

Not just Ben. Teams have guys studying the opposing QB's for any tell tale signs and pass on the info to D players. Sort of like poker where some players do something that gives away their hand.

Damn memory failing here but I recall in the 80's an obscure QB would rub his hands on his pants a lot more when he was going to have a pass play. I learned that from watching the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders show that was on long ago. One of the sweet things brought it up on the show.

I think Art Monk had that as well, teams knew when it was a pass or a run based on his putting his mouth guard in.

Do you need a tell when Ben threw the ball 65.48% of the time? He probably has a tell from a 2 yard pass to a ten yard pass though.

Plexico had a tell that even my wife figured out. Walk out of the huddle it was a run play. Run out of the huddle it was a pass. Run while rubbing his hands and he was the prime receiver. My wife pointed this out during the AFC championship game where everyone thought New England stole our signals. It was the dumbass playing wide out.

Idk maybe, maybe not. Sometimes that stuff can get so ingrained. Hopefully having a real offensive coordinator will force it out.

I remember Romo pointing this for one team’s Tackle, how he set his feet completely gave the run/pass away. I’m assuming that was fixed after having it identified on national TV.

In my playing days I'd look at the OL who usually give away if its a run or pass based off of where they put their weight and their hand in their stance.

Apparently AB had one as well. One of the ravens defensive backs talked about how if AB adjusted his gloves pre-snap he knew AB was the primary receiver.

"It’s not known how long Roethlisberger has been tipping plays inadvertently. The Steelers’ quality control people should have noticed at some point, even if it’s not as pronounced as when receiver Antonio Brownfastened his gloves at the line of scrimmage chiefly for pass plays, according to Behind The Steel Curtain."

    Bless their hearts.

I hate to compliment Brown, but I think it's a tribute to how good he was if he was advertising that he was the primary receiver and he still put up the numbers he did. If I were the Ravens DB's, I don't think I'd go around bragging that they knew when he was getting the ball. Not a good look.
