I don't know if he is available, but I believe this is a guy who had been misused in the NFL to date. At 6'2", 231 lbs., he seems to be a Derrick Henry type running back. His college game film is insane. I think he would be a cheap upgrade to James Conner if our OL is improved. Even then, he is a beast and doesn't appear afraid of the hits downfield.

3 teams in 3 years, seems to have had a lot of injury problems. Currently listed on the Chargers roster. Make a trade offer, trade for him, hell trade for everyone

The knock on him is he's Conner revisited...Injury prone, NO vision and slow...just a plow ahead, get a few yards kinda RB...

We can have a tandem of Derrick Henry + Nick Chubb and neither one would have a 100 yard game because we throw 50-60 times per game

All connected I guess. Remember Bettis did an interview during the season where he said the team just wasn’t committing to the run, OLine never had their hands in the dirt and just didn’t seem up for run blocking.maybe Klemm can change that mindset and get more out of what we have.

Not interested in him, would rather find one in the draft, not some guy bouncing from team to team.

They should consider William Stanback, currently a RB for Montreal in the CFL. 6 feet, 233 pounds, and averaged 6.2 yards a carry while crossing 1,000 rushing yards in 2019. Played college ball at Central Florida.

I'd like to see him run through tackles more before I compare him to Willie Parker. He hardly got touched in this video (not to mention he's less than 200)... otherwise hes just looking like another Anthony McFarland, or who was that other speedy guy the Steelers had a yr or two ago? Didnt do much at all. If I see his name on past rosters I'll edit and bring him up.

Edit: the guy I was thinking about wasnt a RB at all. He was a WR, Dri Archer. Ran like a 4.26 40. Hardly played though and wasnt very effective when he did. I was trying to remember for the longest who he was. Was on the 2014-2015 roster which seems like just yesterday. Time flies.

They need a reliable back that can grind out first downs. By reliable, I mean one that protects the ball and can stay on the field. It'd be nice to have a Henry, Barkley or Chubb. But I'd settle for a Gus Edwards type. I don't think they are going to find what they need raiding practice squads or signing players that have the same issues as the backs they already have. They are almost certainly going to draft a back, probably in the second or third round. They will likely bring in a couple of undrafted guys to try to push Snell and Samuels. Someone pointed out that Conner won't bring a whole lot of interest on the open market. I agree. Then cut him, invite him to camp and if he makes the team, fine. But, you get him at veteran minimum as a back up and cut Samuels.

I am bringing this one back as I was hoping Pittsburgh could pick him up.

I am happy with this signing, I believe this kid can be a beast in the right system and I believe if we sure up our O-Line the Steelers will be the right system.

One look at his stat lines and I can see how you could compare him to Derrick Henry.

If this guy gets a lot of carries, it will be a long, long season.

I will give the kid this, he averaged 3.3 ypc as opposed to Samuels 3.1! Baby steps, but an improvement.

possibly short yardage if he makes the cut? More likely we hand it to our top draft pick until the wheels fall off.

James Conner averaged 4.3 yards per carry and has never had less than 4.0 yards per carry in his career.

That's a full 1 yard less per carry than Conner

Camp body. He will be cut by the time the season starts. 3.1 YPC? Yikes.

He already looks better than anything we currently have.
Has vision, runs north and south and doesn't cover up the ball and punk out like conner does every run.
Looks like he won't run into his linemen neither. McFarland is the guy I want to see more of, due to Canada, but this dude looks decent.
