He will compete for the center position which the competition is nil. I don't mind them bringing back some of the old guard to hold down the fort. Beachum would be a depth signing pushing Chuks. I'm not sold on Chuks manning the left side as of yet. Hopefully i'm wrong. Also their has been no progress on resigning Banner.

The 1st pick I feel will be Travis Etienne. Canada, Colbert and Tomlin were all at the pro day. Might need a small move up to grab him.

Lets hope our second round and 4th round selections address
much needed talent boost and competition for these recent signings.

Just a side bar, when #7 throws less than 38 times a game Steelers winning %
    goes way up.

It's begun. The Steelers are going to paper over all the holes and declare them filled, only to have to re-fill them again next year.

depends on the drafting. all they do then is flip flop players. doesn't mean they wouldn't still keep a guy like finney and hassenauer to be backups and start the draft pick later on this year or next. this is far better then drafting two centers and both have no experience.

Some guys have to work harder than others to stay in football shape. I think Finney is one of those guys that has to really work hard to keep his weight down. He probably just tried to do the bare minimum to protect himself and it wasn't enough. Hopefully he can get himself back in playing form and will be a solid depth option for us.

Yeah, he really had a noticeably bad season imo. Really so did a lot of our OL. I thought Pouncey looked really bad and so did Feiler (who I give a pass for since I believe he is just a tackle that we tried to play out of position). Hopefully DD is back to being 100% healthy this season and we have a lot to be excited about with Dotson. We also seem to be really high on Banner, so hopefully he lives up to expectation. That leaves us with holes at LT and C. Both will need to be filled in the draft. Our OL depth seems to have been strengthened with the Finney and Haig signings (I feel fine about Chuks as our swing T), but we definitely have holes at two starting positions.

By all accounts the team likes Chuks / Banner as the Tackle pairing more than the fans do. I think they will start the season, Chuks at LT and Banner at RT.

Dotson and DeCastro will play Guard, big question at Center

Only Dotson and Banner are signed past 2021. I wouldn’t complain if they use their first two picks on the offensive line

good year to find out what they have in some of these others too, then they can decide who they want to keep if any when we have more money to spend. coyle, walton, collins, leglue, haeg, jones, finney, hassenauer or the draft picks or even chuks.

They certainly might. I would think we are at least going to add a T in the first two rounds and have C on deck anywhere in rounds 2-4. I would be okay with Chuks as a stop gap starter (at least until our rook is ready to take over the starting role full time). C is the easier position to replace imo, and I think you could find a quality starter early on. I guess we will find out come draft day.... Either way we will have to address CB, LT, C, TE and RB at the starting role in the draft over the course of the next two years. ILB, OLB, S and DL are likely positions we are drafting for depth. Then there's the whole next QB dilemma we will have to solve too. Lots of interesting decisions ahead. Hopefully we make the right ones.

Indeed. The roster will be unrecognisable from lasts years one by 2022. They need everything in the next two drafts.

If there are OL moves that we could make that can reestablish our identity as Steelers, then I 'd call these very inspiring, temporarily or long term. For me, getting OL back to what it used to be is the most inspiring thing that could happen right now. Defense is starting to creep up on this though. JMO>

It’s just from an identity standpoint otherwise he is a low level signing. If he can regain his form from a couple years ago he’s a decent pick up.

why is it so hard for people to grasp these signings help to prevent us from reaching for a player. We are better off in the long run this way.

Same reason they will likely bring AV back.
