Just read Ratbirds got a comp pick because they lost a COACH to a team. I`m thinking WTF? So here is the lame explanation:

The Baltimore Ravens will get a few more selections in the 2021 NFL draft thanks to their offseason losses over the last two years. The NFL announced the full list of compensatory picks, awarding the Ravens two of them.

The Ravens have received third-round (No. 104) and fifth-round (No. 183) compensatory picks. While the list doesn’t include the breakdown of how they were calculated exactly, it’s expected they’re from the loss of defensive tackle Michael Pierce last offseason and former wide receivers coach David Culley this offseason.

Under the NFL’s newly adopted minority hiring initiative, teams that lose a minority coach to an executive or head-coaching job will earn third-round compensatory picks in each of the next two NFL drafts.

So...is this right...you don't get a pick 4 having a minority coach, you only get one if you lose a Minority coach??? Is that how it goes??

Yes that’s right, you actually get two. The Ravens will get a third this year and a third next year for losing David Culley to the Texans.

The idea is to incentivise teams to develop minority coaches at the lower levels and put them in to senior coaching positions. When the good ones move on to HC positions the team that developed them gets this reward.

In fairness I can see the logic in that system and I do think it’ll open up opportunities for minorities at the entry level.

Ravens got really lucky here though. Culley was hardly an up and coming hot coaching property, like say Salah. He is nearing retirement age and has never done anything remarkable in his career. That Texans job is toxic and I’d imagine he was the best of a bad lot that applied.

See . Been Preaching this. You got a not so good Qb....You always hear cant get him weapons, they can't draft Wrs.
You got a good Qb....Most , not all Wrs just seem 2 work, and those teams just magically can draft Wrs.
Watch and see they will have this problem with L. Jackson his entire career. Just using him as an example, because as far as I can remember that's how it goes with Qb, Wrs relationship.
The excuse will always be....the same Cam Newton has always had.....Man if they'd just could've drafted, or got him some weapons.....how come they never got him any good weapons. LoL.
Dallas just paid a guy that they had 2 trade draft picks away 2 get him weapons just so he could get 2 a half A$$ season.
    Right Blast..:lolol:

Is that all you got to prove that Colbert drafts better WRs than the rest of the league?

TB didn't win the SB because of AB and you know that. Since AB left the steelers in 2018, he has logged 49 catches for 539 yards and 5 TDs in 2 seasons and has been on 3 different teams rosters. His numbers last year put him 94th in receptions and 92nd in yards in the league. Granted he didn't play the whole season for TB, but he isn't even the best WR on that team. Evans, Godwin, and even Gronk are better options. AB has become a WR3.

Not to mention, having a HOF QB has allowed Colbert to draft late round WRs because Ben makes them look good, plus this team throws way too much and has crap for a running game for many years now. Like I said before, the fact that these WRs fall off the map when they leave backs that up.

AB was a great draft by Colbert. Besides JuJu and Santonio Holmes who was a first rounder, prove your statement. You can't because it isn't true.

You guys trying to argue that Colbert isn't good at finding receivers in the mid rounds or later, even the media mentions them being good at finding receivers, nobody heard of Diontae Johnson until the Steelers drafted him.

Well Diontae and Claypool look like good draft picks, Mike Wallace was productive with the Steelers, AB helped Tampa when Godwin was hurt. Also Sanders turned into a good WR, he wasn't great with the Steelers, but he had a nice career making the Pro Bowl and winning a Super Bowl.

Yeah he definitely didn't exude excitement when at his press conference when they asked him about why he choose the Texans. I believe his quote when asked was that there are 32 of these jobs in the league and this was the one he was offered. Their new GM was not happy with that answer lol.

everybody in the MAC knew about him and AB. i told you'all you would like AB. that's two receivers out of a bunch. you said every other team drafted 1st rounders. not true as i showed you. just stop while you are ahead. the rest of our starters were 2nd rounders not mid rounders. he doesn't do it better then any other team in the league. ben helps a lot.

The Steelers seem to always have at least 3 good receivers, and none are first round picks, Diontae got some late pre draft buzz but he wasn't well known. I agree Ben helps a lot.

Sanders is the only WR drafted by Colbert to do anything outside of Pitt. Wallace got paid when he left and never lived up to the hype. Time will tell with Diontae and Chase. Still, your claim that Colbert is the best there is at drafting WRs has holes in it. You still haven't shown any data or proof to back up your opinion.
