Yep, this is about his teeth. I was driving to get my morning java and a local DJ was talking about this. Turns out this DJ's childhood hero was Jack so he put this out on the airwaves. Seems that Jack is auctioning off his case that held his teeth during Steeler games. He has autographed it to. I'll be curious to see what this goes for.

Not sure where or how to bid on it but if you are into such things I wish you luck in your bid.

Never got to see lambert play. Was he as tough as they said he is? I mean I look physically bigger than he did in his prime and I’m a teddy bear haha.

Middle linebackers today look a hell of a lot different then they did back then.

The radio DJ sounds like a guy in his 20's. Was shocked he was alive during Jack's years.

You'd think our fellow member, "Lambert's Dentist" would have some input on this matter.

The 70s defense had the right combination of bad asses and technicians. Bad asses Greene, Holmes, Lambert, Blount. Technicians Greenwood, Ham, Russell, Wagner.

I believe I read somewhere that on the first day Noll was having the team introduce themselves and when it came to Lambert, he said. I'm Jack MF'n Lambert, are we going hit someone or what?

I didn't put in quotes because I'm not a 100% certain but I do believe I read it in a book one time. Maybe somebody could confirm this?

In the college all-star game, the coaches wanted to just practice in shorts and helmets on a gravel field. Lambert's coach warned them not to do that. The second day of practice the team was in full pads. One of the best Lambert stories I have heard.

Lambert would still be great in today's game because he was a great form tackler. The 70s Steelers hardly ever blitzed because the front four created a great pass rush. But also because Ham and Lambert were so good in pass coverage.

    Oh I agree.
    Just a different game 2day.
The game is no way designed 2 reward those that hit the hardest anymore. Matter of fact its designed 2 take money, or flag those that hit the hardest now.

Just watched a bunch of Lambert highlights on YouTube. His shoulder pads fill up the whole screen on a close up. So many iconic images. My favorite players have always been Greene first, Franco second, and Jack Ham third, then Lambert. I might have to change my order.
