he made our defense better, worked his butt off and the steelers low balled him for 3 years. he made himself one of the top 2-3 slot corners in the league and we threw him peanuts. can't blame him too much.

Totally agree. I don't begrudge any player for going where they can play and get paid. Loyalty goes both ways and the organization will let players go over money. Why should players be the only ones loyal?

But starting a countdown is bs. You excited about leaving? Buhbye.

Agree, the man came to work, did his job and is about to get the payday of his life. Can't fault him for that.

    No you are correct....
but with out the Steelers giving him playing time, or a chance....those opportunitys maybe far , far less.
There are thousands of athletes a year that don't get that chance.
So show some respect, and some thanks.

Agree. This is a guy that could not beat out Artie Burns for Cornerback.

He is a gimmick that the Steelers have been able to use in their defense. I do not see him having success outside of the Steelers defense.

There is a reason the Steelers never asked him to be a starting Cornerback.

I never implied he was wrong for seeking more money. He's s douche for starting a countdown to basically tell the Steelers FO see ya and hey fans follow me on twitpoor the social media sight for the purely narcissistic arrogant. I'm glad I never wasted my money on his jersey. See ya Punk. I don't believe in burning bridges and it probably wouldn't even come down to it anyways but after his fat FA contract is signed and he stops making that kind of dough he may just want to seek some sort of coaching position in the NFL but with one stupid tweet he pretty much eliminated one additional place of opportunity. Another gifted athlete with a 10 cent brain.

What if the Steelers sign him? :lolol:

Some strong reactions to that tweet, don’t think it necessarily means he is leaving Pittsburgh and was flipping them the bird, just that he is excited about FA. He’s earned this coming paycheck.

It’s been speculates that the Steelers will retain either him or Sutton, can’t afford both, so maybe they choose to bring back Hilton.

Well crap. You just flipped my opinion on its ear.

Before your post, I was like, "Screw him and his bad attitude. Make sure it can all fit in your suitcase when you leave. We don't need any of it left around here."

Then you show up, being all logical and level-headed...bastard.

Now I'm like, "If he stays, then I guess his countdown was okay. Let's ride."

But that doesn't make sense. I'm all confused now. Screw you, Blast. You and your mature comment suck. This isn't a place for making sense. It's a place to overreact and jump people's shiz for tweeting stuff in a way that we don't approve of! Get it together!!

Relax. He ain't signing here, no way no how. A tweet with a countdown clock only until some 2nd rate idiot organization backs the Brinks truck up to his door. No way the Steelers match any offer for Hilton. Tomorrow will be day 13 on his precious tick tock tweet and then it will be I've always loved playing for the Pittsburgh fans, you guys are the greatest but it's time I feel is right with my family to move in a different direction. I'm looking forward to being a Giant and will always still love you guys.

I don`t follow this part of the business over the years, but wondering if we have a chance to set an all time high for us in FA`s lost. Also wondering if there is a limit on how many comp picks any team gets in any given year due to FA losses.

Agreed, I wonder what he's going to look like when he's getting starting CB money and is expected to cover #2 WRs all day.

he's a slot corner and that is what he will do. I can't understand all the hate for this guy. He kept his mouth shut, did his job for less then a lot of other guys, and did it well I might add and now he should get paid what he worked for. It's not his fault the Steelers put themselves in this situation.

Another possibility for his tweet is the Steelers already informed him that he isn’t in their plans.

If they can only keep one between him and Sutton, I’m torn between which one I’d want them to keep.

I 100% agree but I can't believe what a douche he can come off as when the Steelers went out and put him in the greatest situation of his career. He's gonna get paid, and I don't even care where but to start a countdown calendar is just a bit giddy and self serving to me. Should have just waited til the phone rang IMHO.

Why? I'm sure they have already told him they can't pay him what he's worth. These guys know they are not coming back because the Steelers have screwed themselves. He didn't mouth off as a restricted free agent when they low balled him. He did his job and put in his dues. I don't see this as a F you to the steelers. Why would it be?

There could be several reasons behind that tweet but why should he have to hide his excitement for FA, this is a big thing for players. Estimates are 12 million contract for him, Steelers could swing 4 million a year once they get into compliance.

I don't care if he does cartwheels in the living room, backflips in the bedroom or dances in the shower I just think that a countdown calendar to the next financial bank deposit is a bit self serving. Again JMHO.

Perhaps he is pissed off at the Steelers but it is no way go about the business.

Slot corners are starters in today's NFL. Who was the "gimmick" before he arrived? Brandon Boykin?

The dude made that position, not the other way around.

It's a countdown to the new league year. He quits getting paid in 16 days. He is no longer a Steelers along with 26 of his former team mates. Did he kick your dog or something? The Steelers could have done something about this year's ago and they didnt. They are counting down just like him. They have to do something with ben before that date or pay him bonuses which again they don't have. They said that, so what is the difference.

We live in a world where everyone feels that they need to post in social media every bit of minutiae in their lives. Hilton is of that generation. Nothing more or less. He’ll probably also thank Steeler Nation for all their support and cry social media crocodile tears as he goes out the door. As Michael Coreleone said; “it’s not personal Sonny, it’s strictly business”
