-Currently QB for the Calgary Stampeders
-Has won championships everywhere he's played, high school, college, and CFL
-Only 31, QBs like Hostetler and Gannon showed that older age can mean better decision-making

This is a low risk option for the team, as the contract would be heavily incentive-based. It's a win-win for Pittsburgh.

I am not opposed to bringing guys like this into camp. It is doubtful he makes the roster, but every once in a blue moon you find a gem in a guy like that.

 

Th next Warren Moon would be nice.

Hell... I'd settle for the next Tommy Maddox. Someone who could lead the Steelers to a win, in at least one playoff game.

 

I think Mason could if he is actually made the starting QB for a season and not a plug in and play toy. Key word is "could" but you have to let him get on the field and put his case on display and know for sure what we have once and for all. Otherwise, get rid of him or designate him a permanent back up. He very well could be better than Turnover Tommy. If Ben is back, it won't matter, at all.

 

Joe Thiesman had a nice run for the Redskins after CFL exp.

When Warren Moon and Joe Theismann were 31, they were long gone from the CFL.

 

Nope. In Theismann's day the CFL was a legit financial option thus they got some good QB's. All rejects now. Besides, we now have a first round QB.

Bo Levi is closer to Garcia than he is to Moon. Moon should have been an NFL QB right out of Washington. Moon had the size, the arm strength, played at a big time college and played well in the ROSE bowl. He just didn't want to have to prove himself as a QB by playing WR or DB.
Bo Levi Mitchell isn't 6 ft 5 so maybe he got over looked . He has good arm strength and poise in the pocket. I think he could be a cheap option.
The CFL doesn't get taken seriously by most NFL fans but in certain positions like DB or WR there isn't as much difference as people might think. The field is almost 1 1/2 times the size of the NFL field. So if you can cover someone on a field that big your doing something right.

 

Yes, a 1st rd QB that's a bust and head case and no one wants except us (he's was very very cheap to get). Is that your guy?

 

At this point ... the steelers are desperate. He did a better scouting job then the steelers. Bring him in ... it couldn't hurt.
