...or at least he's following the same career path. Have an ordinary career full of wasted potential and more lowlights than highlights, then leave the team eventually at the end of your first contract and quickly wash out of the league.

That last part hasn't happened yet, but unless he gets better quick it's a likely outcome.

Edmunds has not played up to his draft status, but he’s no Jarvis Jones. I think he’s more like a Ziggy Hood - OK, but just an average to slightly below average starter. Jones flat out sucked.

Still like to see him in the weight room with his other older and bigger brother and put on 15 lbs this off season.

Then show up and let Butler turn him into Bush's opposite number.

Terrell Edmunds is the furthest thing from Jarvis Jones. Jarvis Jones still remains to this day the greatest 1st Round Disappointment in the Mike Tomlin Tenure. For all of his faults, Ziggy Hood was in the incorrect system to begin with anyhow as he was more suited for an attacking 4-3 Defensive Tackle and not a pure 3-4 Two Gapping 5 Tech.

For that matter, Terrell Edmunds had his best season to date; his first Multi INT year of his career. To put this in context, he has more INT's than Jamal Adams. Completely different players yes but INTs for a Strong Safety are still critical. I believe that this season has shown that Terrell has finally turning the corner but @jeh1856 made a valid point about this development time back during this offseason.

It should not take a 1st Round Pick 5 Years to develop. We will soon be approaching Terrell's Fifth Year in two. The issue is not the five years as Terrell's Football IQ seems to have caught up with his athletic gifts. The issue is retaining him all together; highly unlikely at this point.

Marcus Allen is already doing that though. Besides, turning Terrell Edmunds into a Linebacker essentially forces the team to find another Safety in the draft. As much as I would like that idea, the issue is the Chemistry that both Terrell and Minkah have developed in these 2 Years they have been together.

Given the fact none of us know if/when Rookie Minicamp and nevermind the likes of OTAs or Training Camp will start, having Minkah play next to a Rookie is essentially the Steelers Defense circa 2015-2018 via musical chairs. We have to roll with whom we have on the back end. That said, regarding Linebackers, I suggest you give Devin Bush Jr.s Michigan replacement Cameron McGrone a look. Quite the athlete with the upside to match.

I would not mind the team spending a 2nd Round pick on him if Josh Myers, Creed Humphrey and Landon Dickerson are all gone by then.

Going to be curious to see who and what the new DB coach will bring to the table.

Edmunds is playing to what he should have been, a third-round draft choice.

Your entire argument for Edmunds having the best season of his career was that he had a multi-interception game? Yes, he intercepted two passes against an overmatched rookie quarterback. Those were also his only interceptions this season. I guess that qualifies since he only had one interception in his first two seasons.

That said, the best season of his career is a very low bar. Edmunds still can't cover. Even when he is in a position to make a play in coverage, he either hesitates, misplays the ball, or both. He also missed some big open-field tackles, including two in the playoff loss to the Browns.
