Gotta' love a few of these leading into the Cleveland game:

    • "Football is our game, but our job is winning. We intend to do our job. We intend to prepare with that mindset and ultimately let our play lead us to that destination."
    • "We're not seeking comfort. We're not grading ourselves on a curve."
    • "This game is on the schedule, and so the guys who will be on the field represent us. And the standard that is the Pittsburgh Steelers will be the standard."

Why do you guys expect anything different? What coach gives press conferences without using cliches?

Sounds like a college history professor that has to clean drool up off the desks after his tutelage.

Tomlin only uses cliches. Very little actual information or answers to questions.

I don't even know what his point is most of the time, so that might be true.

Obviously, when Tomlin speaks, it's his prerogative to own it, and to keep up the standard and things of that nature.

Love it!!! Good stuff from Coach Tomlin. If we have a good run in the playoffs he'll be around for a while.

You hear no difference between a Tomlin press conference and every other coach's press conference?

I have never heard one of Tomlin's and haven't listened to anyone else's in years. Mostly because it's just a cliche fest. Denny Green and Mora are long gone!

I think you're basing your opinion on incomplete data.

Tomlin would be good at giving a war speech in midevil times to his troops before he leads them into getting slaughtered because those troops had no idea what he was talking about

Kill two birds with one stone.
Wherever you go, there you are.
    Look before you leap.
There once was a man from Nantucket...
    All that glitters isn't gold.

There can I be an NFL coach now?

Mora's playoffs rant was spur of the moment and spontaneous. And honest.

Whereas Tomlin is almost like he's reading from a script. Robotic practically.
