I think the hatred is at the highest level in hockey. Flyers and Pens hate each other. Steelers Eagles not as much or I definitely don't feel it. Pirates Phillies no because the Pirates are never a serious team.

You got it, similar to the dislike Cincinnati has for Cleveland. I mostly like to see Philly lose at anything because their fans are the biggest collection of idiots in the county. After all, there is a police precinct in Lincoln Financial Field and their fans once pummeled Santa Clause with snow balls years ago.

 

That play at the end of the half, KC/Saints. All the kid had to do was fall on the ball for a TD.

 

The city in general thinks they are like New York so they have this arrogant attitude. And sports fans wise they are just scum. I'm usually one for giving each fan base the benefit of the doubt but that city ugh.

 

The hatred between Pens and Philly fans is nuclear. Back when the Bucs were good, they had quite a rivalry with the Phillies. I still remember Bert Blyleven getting beaned by Kevin Saucier and going after him which triggered a bench clearing brawl. I never heard my grandfather laugh so hard. Good times.

The one thing I have to admit that Philly fans did that surprised the hell out of me (still does) was that they gave Mario Lemieux a standing ovation when he came back against them after his final round of chemo treatments for non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and had a three or four point game. He also got one in MSG for scoring five goals against the Rangers.

I wouldn't say it that way. It's Steeler fans living among their fan base that hate the hell out of them. I lived in the Philly market for 45 years. I had no problem until many years back I went to see the Pirates play the Phillies and a ice cold soda was thrown on my head from above. Never wore my Pittsburgh gear to any games there again. I went to a Flyer/Maple Leaf game with a friend once and they beat the **** out of a Maple Leaf fan who was minding his own business. Thus I root against them always.
