I went through the All 22 film of our running plays vs. Washington several times over, and based on that sample I concur with this statement.

I agree. Seems like a lot of wasted money to me. I was expecting a lot more.

I think Watt will be cut in the offseason, he makes too much and he isn't producing.

    2021 Steelers off season

Hey TJ come in here, we got good news and bad news. Good news JJ is coming with his Turkey, bad news is Derek is leaving with his Chicken bacon Ranch.

Better news you get to keep enjoying your Tuna.

I remember that one time he got open and everybody lost their mind because Ben wasn't looking at Watt 1st out of his 5 options for the 2 seconds he was open. Good times.

As far as I remember Derek was quite good at the Chargers, excellent on special teams and a regular contributor on offence. What has happened to him? Makes no sense that he is this bad

our offense happened to him. When has he been given a consistent opportunity to contribute? Until he gets significant reps we have no clue what he can offer. His talents are wasted in this putrid offense

I wonder if we all didn't get fooled by the last name. You see Watt on the back of a jersey and you just expect him to he good.

Lingering soft tissue injury and an offense that has forgotten how to power run block.

Wait a second. He hasn't been very good? How many plays has he been in there? I haven't rewatched the WFT game, but just off the top of my head, I don't remember there being many (if any) plays where he was the leading blocker. I remember getting angry when he wasn't in the game on the goal line. Why do you have a FB and not use him inside the 1 and you're running?

i'm not saying that he hasn't been playing bad, but I don't know that we've seen him enough to even make that assessment. I think it's a bigger issue of the offense doesn't use him.

The bigger issue is he has been hurt so much and simply hasnt been able to be productive...

He played a handful of times on Monday lining up as a traditional fullback lead blocker and the results were poor to awful but given that the 5 man unit on OL was poor to awful on run blocking and Ebron sucked on his assignments it was a giant pile of suck to go round.

^^^^^ Watt wasn't brought here to be a big, brushing FB who blocks and nothing else. WHY...When actually his game is quite the opposite...A blocker yes, but also an occasional runner, occasional receiver...

Again, Fitchner is so GD stupid...You have a legitimate weapon...Someone unaccounted for, and he doesn't know how to use him...Pound a square peg into a round hole...Dude is seriously clueless!

I think we all may have overestimated Watt's abilities. I know I did. If he was anything near as good as we thought he was going to be he would be a bigger part of the offense. What I have seen so far from Watt hasn't been good, even from a blocking aspect.

Last game was the first time I saw him in the backfield. I see Mondeaux lined up in the backfield more than I see Watt. Most of the time he lines up on the OL. If we wanted a backup OL, we should have signed one.

yeah cause watt's had all kinds of opportunities. If the other players on offense were treated like Wastt there's be at least three receivers riding the pine right now. Let Watt play some. Don't always run when he's in the game maybe toss him a pass once in a while. If we're willing to stick with the guys dropping the ball then maybe you can apply that same logic to Watt and see what he's got to offer. He had a whole 3 snaps against Washington. he has 49 snaps on offense for the whole year. that's 5 percent. So yeah he's obviously no good

He's not been a bad player for his career so it's really weird he suddenly sucks.

Gotta earn snaps by making the most of the ones you get.

with all due respect he has NOT been given enough snaps to see just how effective he can be all year. And to say you have to make the most of three lousy snaps is flying in the face of any rational thought whatsoever. He has been on the field for only 5 percent of the total offensive snaps this year. There are three receivers out there that if judged by that bar should be on the bench as well. But I guess he can judged on those snaps.
