All those awards mean nothing to me. I remember a few years back we 7-8 pro bowlers and lost in first round of playoffs. The one thing most fans will notice is that SB trophy.

The comeback player of the year will be on the field tomorrow, but he’ll be qb for the wft. I love Ben, but man, 18 months ago they were seriously considering amputating Alex smith’s leg.

Despite leading the Steelers to an undefeated season and having his best statistical season, Ben gets no MVP consideration.

Despite having far better numbers than Alex Smith, Ben gets no CPOY consideration.

Ben says FU to everyone and wins his first Super Bowl MVP in February.

I don't believe that Ben would care less and applaud Alex Smith winning that.

Ben should have won a Super Bowl MVP already. Any other QB would have won it.

Hopefully he can add to his resume with a Super Bowl Championship and MVP.

While I like the gist of your post overall, Alex’ injury was horrific, it’s good to see him back on the field and having some success.

The award is supposed to be about your performance, not some feel good story.

It's clearly about both. Smith went from almost dying to being a starting QB again. That's more than just a feel good story.
It's obviously not just about performance or Chad Pennington wouldn't have ever won the award. It's not like he was ever a great player. Jon Kitna won it too I believe, and he was never great.

Tommy Maddox won this award for goodness sake why are you are caught up in it. Ben is totally disrespected this is nothing new. He will be a HOF some day, Alex Smith won't be.
    Let it go....

I agree with you, but that doesn't mean he should get an award. He hasn't done anything.

No, actually it’s not supposed to be about performance.

It is very specifically listed by AP as “given to a player who has overcome adversity”. Smith wins this over any other player ever.
