I think you're just getting tired of the avatar. Stick with it for at least one more week! :)

Because our bye week got screwed up and he got banged up last week. We saw last year he's the team. We can have the best defense in the league and with MR at the helm we aren't even a playoff team. Bens health is one of the most important things.

Yeah, that was silly thinking and those people were proven wrong. There is a very good chance the Steelers lose that game without Heyward.

No doubt Ben is the most important piece of the team. We had a bye already. Again I ask you. What makes you think it’s a reality resting Ben. Not asking for what you think should happen. What have we ever done that makes you think it’s a reality?

It just astounds me how people think they can diagnose a players injury through the television and think the have more insight than the medical experts evaluating the player.

This isn't a normal season. Bye week screwed up and would have a really long stretch of games. Being undefeated allows Ben to take a week off.

Tomlin is hung on this board anyway. If Ben plays and gets hurt, Tomlin gets roasted. Ben sits and MR sucks and we lose, Tomlin gets roasted. The dude can’t catch a break.

The fact that Tomlin said Ben is playing debunks all that.

Well that gets back to my original post. IF this wasn't a division game at 4pm. I could see them maybe resting Ben depending on how banged up he is.

I don't....only because the Chiefs have one loss. Homefield in 2020 isn't what it was in the past but a bye is still a bye. Based upon how the playoffs are currently set up the Steelers have that bye and they will have gone 12+ weeks w/o one by season end. Even if it wasn't a divisional game the Steelers would still need to maintain the tiebreaker advantage vs AFC opponents. I wouldn't trust Mason or Dobbs even if they were playing against the worse defense in this league and the worst defense is not likely to play like the worse defense when they play the Steelers anyway.

Also, I'm just a little selfish. I think you chase the undefeated mark as long as possible and always put your best foot (personnel) forward in doing so.

I remember back in 2008 on the old Steelers.com message board there was a group of posters insisting that Ben was being beaten up, and the season was going to hell if we didn’t start Leftwich for a while to save Ben for the late/post season.... I think they were affectionately referred to as the Bench Ben Brigade.

Ben throws 6 TDs, Steelers win by 30, and Tomlin gets roasted

The offense has regressed since the Browns game. I would like to see the offense show some consistency.

I sort of remember that. Seems to have worked out for Ben to have kept playing.

Last week aside, the offense has faced better opposition since the Browns game. Cleveland's defense is not good.

That said, the offense really hasn't shown consistency in any single game other than that one. They have either started fast and faltered or rallied after starting slowly just about every week. The real concern right now is the running game. Part of that is execution. Part of it is coaching. The Steelers have given up on the run far too easily the last two weeks. I'm not saying I disagree with the second-half strategy that won both games for Pittsburgh, but even in the first half they got away from Conner far too quickly.

I remember that. I was one of those who wanted him rested. My problem is once I realized we had a QB that was going to give us a lot of hope every season, I'd freak out every time he got up slow. In Ben's early years my family would get together to watch every game. I can't count how many times we saw Ben getting up slow and said seasons over.
